Tanglewood: Case One Dear Mr. Perrone, after reviewing your company history, values and philosophy I feel confident that I can help you design a better functioning staffing department. Acquire vs. develop talent I believe that since two middle class everyday individuals founded Tanglewood, it is within their philosophy to develop talent within to promote ideas from their own employees and make them feel empowered. As part of my research of your company I found that it is company culture to allow all employees to give their input and suggestions, therefore in order to promote participation employees need to feel that their efforts will result in promotions. MUFFLER MAGIC Tonya Davis Professor Ralph Lide,M.A. PHR Human Resource Management- Bus 310 Specify three recommendations about the functions of recruiting, selection, and training that you think Ron Brown should be addressing with his HR manager now. The first thing I think needs to be address they need to decide on what positions they would like to fill. After they have decide on this they need to have the proper job applications and forms etc that each applicant will need to apply for the position. The company needs to develop new ways to interview each applicant in other words the applicant should be screened properly to be sure that he or she would even qualify for this position.
Human Resources are a major aspect to every business. Management's presentation in human resources will say whether or not a business will be flourishing in the long run by recruiting with the right people for the right positions. A lot of businesses and their managers undergo the pressure to be completely staffed and take on people without actually evaluating their potential for quality effort as well as being a good fit for the atmosphere the managers desire the workplace to have. ACC has experienced employment issues in recent times since they are devoted to maintaining a definite standard of quality when offering a spot to a new member of staff and are reluctant to just settling for the regular. Managers at ACC have to cautiously examine their respective workers and decide if they require the need for extra people and if they do the managers have to estimate the different personalities they manage and what type of personality would fill the open spot effectively.

The abovementioned encapsulates the essence that internal customers are one of the most important keys to a company’s success. Motivating and engaging the workforce entails planning for the advancement and/or changes in responsibilities to best suit both the organization and employee skills, talents and desires. In this way, both the business and the employee benefit from this symbiotic relationship. What’s ironic is that approximately ten years ago when I was completing my graduate studies, the same issues that are troubling today’s employers are the same issues we were encountering then. I’ve had the greatest opportunity of serving our country proudly for over 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Effective delegation requires the delegator to identify the right person for the job. First clarifying to the associate what he or she wants the individual to do remains essential to effective delegation. Next, specify the range of employee discretion and allowing employees to become a part of the business will help the employees understand why the company has to make decisions for individual jobs.
1. How would you describe the attitudes and emotions of the typical QuikTrip employee? How do these attitudes and emotions influence the employees’ work behaviors? According the company’s growth, being recognized for by Fortune magazine for nine consecutive years as the best companies to work for, the time that the company invests in training and emphasizing the importance of its employees, I would say that this company has employees with positive attitudes, emotions and work ethic. And it seems that with so much time devoted to training and hiring people who like people that the company’s core values can somewhat be instilled within the person rather easily.
Motivation Kristina Thomas Psy 355 March 24, 2014 Kelly Trutter Motivation Motivation is the reason for one's behavior in doing something or acting a particular way. An action or behavior does not happen on its own, it is brought on by motives or incentives. Motives and incentives are two sources of motivation. The push/pull metaphor correlates with motives and incentives and the induced behavior from motivation. Motives and Incentives are what drives people to be motivated.
