ATHLETE REPORT Adrian Peterson Adrian Peterson is a six foot one, two hundred and seventeen pound running back who wears number twenty-eight for the Minnesota Vikings. Adrian is also referred to by the nick name All Day which his dad gave him as a child because he was so hyperactive. Today his nick name is A.D. which is just an abbreviated version of all day. He is considered by many to be the best running back in the NFL today. Adrian was drafted in the first round with the seventh overall draft pick by the Vikings in 2007. Growing up Adrian had one best friend, his name was Brian and he was Adrian’s brother. He is always well prepared for the competition and never looks scared. Whether facing the best team or the worst team in the league you can always expect Adrian Peterson to leave everything he has on the field. Adrian Peterson will never play down to his opponent’s level, but you can expect him to rise up when playing another talented opponent. Adrian is a team oriented player, during the season, in the offseason, at practice, during pregame, or during the big game his team mates have no problem asking for his advice, giving him their advice or congratulating him on a great play. Adrian was quoted saying “I am starting to realize that a lot of guys look up to me, older guys, and even younger guys, are asking me questions and ask me about how to handle situations. I'm young, but that leadership role has been on me so I need to live up to it.” The one word that sums it all up is leadership. Adrian is an all around role model to people of all ages. Adrian is also about giving back to the community, he has a foundation called the All Day foundation named after his own nick name. This mission of the all day foundation is to raise funds for the purpose of inspiring hope, enriching children’s lives and building a better future for our nation’s kids. When I was playing high school football I would watch Ray Lewis on Television to learn from him. I played linebacker and wanted to learn from the best. He is getting older now but still plays with the fire he did when he was a rookie in the league. He is well prepared each and every game. His coaches can trust him to lead his team and trust him to keep them in their place when they step out of line. This makes Ray Lewis perform better because he is playing for his team which he says he considers
