Being a teammate instead of an individual My junior year of high school was a brand new start for me after a bad freshman, and sophomore year I felt renewed for a new football season. I worked hard all summer long for the opportunity to get a starting spot on the varsity football team. As a young student athlete being a junior on varsity I felt untouchable with the sense that they needed me more than I needed them. Surprisingly, that mind set worked for a little while as our team was winning, and for the next four weeks I was on top of my game. Little did I know that missing one practice on Labor Day would change everything.
