Vision 2016 for my School Introduction. When I look at ‘impossible’ it says I’M Possible. This would describe my journey of life and times at K.R.Rawal School. When I joined with Mr. Rajendra Rawal to start a school way back in 2002, it was something to keep me occupied, something connected to society; never thought the journey would get so intense and personal. The one-room establishment soon consumed time; we walked through the streets and gullies of Ranip community to meet parents, guardians and other people to understand the needs better. This required commitment; we invested more and more time, staff joined, teachers joined, buildings grew, the community noticed a good intentioned school and student strength swelled. I grew up being part of a teacher’s life, listening to her lectures and tuition classes. The way she taught, the way she explained her concepts and the whole idea seeped into my soul. I took classes for her with just basic knowledge of the subjects but managed it with a passion to teach. Teaching became enjoyable and worthwhile early in life and later became a life goal. As a 5th grade student the road was clear, to be a teacher. A lucid objective of teaching became visible, to make the student not only pass school exams but also life exams. We want to extend the meaning of literacy to English language literacy, math literacy, science literacy, and career and technology literacy. Emphasis on English communication by teachers and parents would ensure the students practice what we preach. We want to intensify Mothers workshops, awareness camps for parents and guardians to raise their standards. Voluntary English communication camps for them would support us in our endeavor. A school is a change agent of society. This is a huge responsibility of every teacher, school or educational institution. Way back in 2002 we wanted to impact our community positively, if we merely churn out students who pass the academic grades and not think about the larger goal of preparing students for life-exams, then we would be falling short of the great objective of being a change agent of society. I can say proudly that K.R.Raval School has succeeded in its objective, to be No.1 in quantity and quality and also changed the Ranip community. We are sure we would be able to maintain and surpass this year after year.
