My mom is my hero because she is trying her best to raise me and my little sister through a bad time. Some characteristics of a hero my mom shows everyday are optimism, selflessness, sacrifice, dedication, determination, perseverance, and focus. I admire my mother in a lot of ways. I admire my mom’s optimism. Everyday my mom comes home, the first thing she does is make my little sister and me laugh. My mom walks in to the house happily and leaves the house happily. Most parents raising two children all alone, not being able to pay mortgage, having a struggling daughter in California, and being in debt wouldn’t be able to laugh, be happy, and persevere for this long. My mom is the exact opposite. My mom says no matter what, we can make it. My mom helped me realize that all you need in life is strength and education.My mom has strength, but coming to America in her mid 20’s, she didn’t get a college education. My mom works over eighty hours a week, but still gets up at 6a.m. to work on the yard. This shows my mom’s strength. My mom also shows selflessness. My mom works until she can’t even walk just for me and my sister. My mom has perseverance. My mom keeps fighting on to raise me and my sister. My mom believes that she can get us out of the mess we’re in no matter what it takes. My mom has focus. If she starts something she has to finish. My mom will not quit trying. My mom has to will finish the job she has. If there is snow on the driveway, she has to finish the entire driveway. I try to be like my mom by being optimistic. I try to be optimistic by looking at the good side of things. My mom doesn’t like people who feel bad for themselves, which gave me a lot of strength inside. I try to be happy no matter what I am doing. An example is when I have to walk home and it starts to rain. I could be happy that I was only five minutes away. Another way I try to be
