Baseball is a sport that has been a huge part of my life ever since I was a young boy. I’ve been playing baseball for many years, I started playing T-Ball when I was five years old and that sparked my interest for the game of baseball. My first year of baseball my dad was my coach and really pushed me to be the greatest player I could be, because of my dads encouragement I progressed extremely fast and my skill level was far above other kids of my age. So my dad had than placed me in a league with seven and eight year old, in this league baseball became serious. I had to prove my skills to my new coaches because I was smaller than the rest of the kids and didn’t have the same knowledge or experience they did.
She has been through so many obstacles in her lifetime and one way or another she has overcome them all. I want to be just like her; strong-willed, passionate about life, tries to see the good in everything even though it looks bad, and beautiful. The second set of people means the world to me: My wonderful Husband, my handsome son, and my beautiful daughter. They are the reason why I enjoy waking up each morning. You see, I am a stay at mom and wife and I enjoy every minute of it.
So I normally try to go over and beyond to make sure everyone around me is happy or having a good time. Everyone should feel welcomed and accepted wherever they go. My family and friends tend to always call on me for the voice of reasoning. I never really thought about it until I took the test that people trust me with their secrets and the personal experiences in their life. It makes me feel good that people trust me enough to talk to me about any and everything.
I knew immediately that I was going to like Ms. Terri. I was so happy, my mom liked her too. My mom, Ms. Terri and my dad would do everything all together with me such as sports and school activities. They all worked really hard to get along and to make sure I felt loved. When I was eight years old my dad and Ms. Terri got a divorce.
This class has reinforced my belief, and it is great to see the meaning of sports being taught to others. Each class brought me back to the days when I first learned the sport, and how excited I was to play. Sports have always and will always be a part of my life. My first baseball game was at 17 days old. I played soccer, basketball, and baseball for years, but I soon found my passion on the diamond.
Images were racing wild through my mind as I thought about my teammates going to battle without me. I had played with some of these guys since we were in eighth grade, and when they needed me the most, all I could do is sit and cheer. I hated the feeling of helplessness, but at the same time I knew I had to do what little I could do, well. It was two days until the first game of my junior year in high school football season. My team and I were going to play St. Rita, a battle we had persistently prepared for since the last game of our sophmore year.
Then I told him in a direct answer, absolutely (D’O’Brian,1994). To make a long story short, he was not the most skilled baseball player but his enthusiasm far exceeded his athletic short comings. This young man is at every practice and has become a leader at those practices. Another young man at my school has been in a wheelchair since childhood. He was born with a rare disease that left him in this unimaginable shape.
I have made many friends including Cadet/Private Sommermeyer and Cadet/Private Tatum. These many friends extend beyond the JROTC classroom and will no doubt be there when I most need them to be. Another thing ROTC is good for is community service hours. My counselor has already given me a community service worksheet to fill out whenever I do something and she says it will help me get into a much better college and will also look good on my Job/college application. JROTC also inspires me to work hard in school and out of school.
An injury of this magnitude is traumatizing to a pitcher whose position depends on his ability to be able to throw the ball with control and velocity. Prior to the injury, the majority of his life was spent either mentally or physically preparing for baseball. Even during the off season he still estimated he spent fifty to seventy-five percent of his time on baseball. The athlete had been dealing with elbow pain since his junior year in high school. During summer physicals prior to his senior year he reported the pain to his family doctor who said that there was a possibility of an ulnar collateral ligament sprain, but said that it was nothing to worry about because he was still
Throughout my young life many things has happened and plenty of things that I cherish, I was given the opportunity to do it one things that I cherish a lot is the sport of Baseball. I went from being the starting third baseman in my sophomore year to team captain in my senior year of high school. My history of baseball didn’t start from when I was little playing catch with my dad in the backyard. It all started with a simple question by my History teach in middle school. The sport of baseball was never an interest of mine until I gave it a chance.
