In my older life, and particularly within my job role, this has taught me that I can be emphatic and sympathetic towards people. I have always been interested in history, including my own family history. When I was young, I would sit for hours on end listening to grandmas stories of her own background and where she came from. This has given me a sense of my own self and has taught me how to be a good listener with the people that I care for in my working life. My parents always showed great dignity and respect for other people, their own parents, aunts, and uncles.
Anthony Socci 3 White 11/28/08 Biography: Final Draft Da’dooch Socci “A day without laughter is a day wasted” This was John Michael Socci’s favorite philosophy that he lived by on an everyday basis. My interview with his sister Jenifer Socci, was a great privilege for myself. She is very wise, a remarkable memory and the smartest woman I know. This interview turned out to be more informative than I could’ve hoped for. Da’dooch was always fond of telling stories or explaining those who have passed.
He believes he can regain Daisy. Although he has the wealth that can match with the leisured class, he does not have their manners. His tragedy lies in his possession of a naive sense. Nick, the novel’s narrator, considers that his greatness lies in the talent for self-invention, the ability to transform his dreams into reality, and his persistent love. His life is dedicated to the recovery and renewal of an early love with Daisy, whose “voice is full of money.”(Fitzgerald, 2001: 11) He believes in Daisy and manages to protect her.
The first are my parents. They are the core to me being who I am. They taught me right from wrong, they showed me unconditional love in more than one way, and they are my best friends. My mother taught me how to be a great mom and a good wife. She was always patient with us kids and with my dad.
A woman who made it her priority to make everyone in her life know just how much she loved them. A woman whom everyone has a fond memory of and never fails to comments on what a beautiful spirit she had. This woman I am speaking of is my mother Rosie. Although she has been gone eleven years now, not a day goes by that she is not in my thoughts. It was an honor and a privilege to have her in my life.
Mandi is the one person that I hope is always there for me, because your sister is always going to be there to pick you up when you have fallen. I have had many significant events happen to me in my life but only two have completely affected me as I come of age, One of those significant event that has helped shape who I am not only today but for the future of myself, happened in October of 2011 when I moved from Kansas to Menard, Texas in the middle of my seventh grade year just a couple days after my first nephew Greyson was born, the big move from Kansas to Texas had changed everything for me. I had to adjust from moving from Idaho to Kansas then to Texas, if you think about it moving can affect many people in many different ways positive or negative, and for me it affected me negatively. Smith’s strengths are her loyalty, tenacity, and work ethics. She will still be anyone that she has placed in her circle and her family. She keeps going despite the hurdles and obstacles. Even though her husband had a lot of money and wanted her to just stay at home and raise the children, she insisted that she work and have her own money. She states that she doesn’t necessarily like working but she likes the fact that she works and can support herself and her children if needed.
Mama finally stands up to Dee and realizes the beauty in Maggie. Mama is a simple woman. She has worked hard her entire life and has done the best to support her family. Although Mama may not agree with Dee, it seems as if she is caught up in Dee’s opinions and behavior. Almost as if she wants to be enough for Dee because she knows she never has been.
