(Sauberman) The fire started spreading quickly, catching fire to drapery, decorations, and scenery flats. (Sauberman) When the fire began spreading into the audience, people became panicked. The actors on stage headed for the double doors at the back of the stage. (Alaspa 23) Once they opened the doors, cold air was able to get in, creating a giant fireball. (Alaspa 23) The fireball then flew over the audience on the main floor and turned the balcony into a death
The thunder followed the rain. The thunder and lightning were lighting up the outline of the ruined city. In the distance windows could be heard being broken, most likely to places being looted (if that was even possible). Closer there were screams of the mutated coming out to hunt, and the screams of those who were hunted. Buildings stood barren and crumbling.
Joseph Walker 2/10/12 Intro to Security The Station Nightclub Fire There were many issues regarding this nightclub that caused this horrible fire that claimed the lives of 100 people. There were a couple threats involved that made this fire so bad. The main threat that happened was the pyrotechnics failed and ignited a flame on the stage. One of the bad design flaws of this building was that they used a highly flammable insulation. This insulation is known as polyurethane foam insulation.
It was an important event because so many people died when the ship sank, partly because of the lack of lifeboats, after the sinking no ship was allowed to set sail unless there were enough lifeboats for everyone on the ship. It was called one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters. I think that the titanic is still talked about because it’s a technological story, where everything seemed to be right with the ship then things went not only wrong, but so horribly wrong, so quickly that it captured people’s imagination at the time.
The Great Depression of 1930 took on many different faces. To many Americans, it proved to be an intense time of uncertainty, which reeked emotional and physical havoc in many lives. The unbearable circumstances these families faced were like none other in our nation’s history. Desperation, fear and, even death, became an ever present trouble in many American lives. Millions of people lost their jobs during these tragic times, and left their homes in pursuit of securing work, but most fell short.
All it took was a few plague-infected fleas from Central Asia to start the chain reaction of death and terror. There was no cure, and everyone was at risk. The changes that followed after the plague had passed were drastic; there were changes in the economy, in society and in job
For me it always seemed like fires happened to people that no one knew and that firefighters were iconic symbols and not real people. That changed one night during the year I spent in Iraq. Just twenty yards from my living quarters, a friend of mine stood outside his quarters and watched as his belongings burned to mere ashes. Luckily for me, the firefighters contained the fire before it reached any further or I would have been standing there just the same, watching the things that kept me sane (pictures of my wife and daughter) go up in
I was shocked at first and didn't understand what had happened. When I heard teachers around me let out horrified gasps and begin to cry, it began to sink in. I was too shocked to cry. As I stared at the fireball in the sky, I just stood there on the playground enveloped in my own thoughts. It blew up!
The strong radiation from the atomic bomb contaminates the city. This radiation kills all of the people there. The explosion from the bomb whirls up massive amounts of dust and water. The dust and water become radioactively contaminated and fly several feet up. Then, the day after the nuclear explosion, the contaminated dust and water rain down and contaminate a large area.
This produced an immense amount of energy casing a massive explosion in the reactor. The explosion completely destroyed the reactor and released harmful radioactive agents into the environment. The explosion at reactor 4 was immediately followed by an even bigger explosion that completely destroyed the reactor building structure. Super heated graphite and other reactor components
