My Future Goals I am bound for a popular educational destination after graduating from high school, because revolutionary breaking edge discoveries are what excite me. My personal goal is to contribute to technological advances that are revolutionizing the world in exciting ways. Learning everything I can about computer science and robotics will help me accomplish this goal. In short, I want to be an engineer. Earning an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Robotics would help me step into the career of my dreams. Ideally, I would like to attend Stanford University for my four years bachelors’ degree. Stanford is a very prestigious school and my chances of working with a cutting edge company are much better, if I graduate from Stanford University (SU). My second university choice is to study computer science at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). Although this school is not very prestigious, it is much more affordable. The cost of attending Stanford for four years is about $243,000 and the cost of attending UAF is about $70,200 only a fraction of the cost of Stanford. Books, supplies and personal expenses are included in these figures and estimated to be roughly the same at both institutions. In four years it accounts for roughly $15,600. Admission to Stanford is another hurdle altogether, because one must be academically prepared and have demonstrated that in high school. In addition to taking computer science courses I must also be prepared to take courses in general education in order to fulfill graduation requirements. These courses are designed to make the student more aware of diverse subject areas. If I am going to help design robotic people, then this basic knowledge will be helpful. I am looking forward to taking French, Geography, and other basic skills courses. The abilities of a robot, once programmed are
