According to Dr. Hawkins spiritual gifts have a motivational purpose because they enable the believer to participate in ministry that impacts lives which provides an experience of joy in the use of these gifts. True 21. The doctrine of the Trinity teaches about Gods concern for unity and intimacy among his followers. True 22. Understanding the doctrine of Eschatology can help to provide believers with a source of joy when they are enduring struggles, because this doctrine emphasizes that believers have a future secured by God.
Christopher Mcandless, although driven to find true isolation, came to the self-realization at the end of his journey that loneliness was not the true solution to his problems, but that true happiness comes from the love of others. Before he came to this realization, Christopher’s motivations for happiness and isolation derived from his disconnection to his family, his hatred for society and the structure that forms it, and finally Christopher’s desire for a natural life. Christopher’s disconnection to his family was one of his motivations to search for total isolation. Chris had next to no relationship with any of his family members besides his sister, which evidently was not enough to keep him from leaving. He had no similar interests with them and their lifestyle was one that he didn’t like or want to be a part of.

Unkle Billy escaped his direct fate by dooming the others and it is never let known to the reader if he becomes happy later on in his life, though it is doubted by his cynical and untrustworthy nature; he would probably never let himself be happy by always fearing the world around him. Oakhurst and the Duchess both had more life to look forward to and so far they had been living life on their terms, even if it wasn’t the optimal way to live. The Innocent and Piney had each other and had run away to fulfil their lives of happiness together. Mother Shipton was the only one in the confining cabin that didn’t have something specific to look forward to after the mountains, yet she had been living her life the way she choose before the exile. Society had thrown out Oakhurst, Duchess and Mother Shipton for them being themselves; by living their successes they were condemned.
He says with a sad smile he missed his child’s first words. The war was his life then and it consumed him, but his heart was always somewhere else. John admits “I was scared that I would never come home and I would never get the chance to hold my baby in my arms and kiss my wife’s pretty face.” After the war was over though, John returned safely to Eleanore and Carol. It was not as difficult for him to adjust after being away for so long, mainly because he had a wife that loved him and a family to provide for. There wasn’t any time, he states, to feel sorry for him or think about what war was for him.

John attempts to communicate with Kathy while he is away, but Kathy for the most part lets him down through some of her degrading letters.
Those two scenes caught my attention because in the past, I have been told those lines when I felt I had no purpose in life and just could not move on. I fell deeply in love, he was my first love but because of certain situations we had to break up. I just could not believe what happened to our love and resorted to cruising around the island many times and I actually did not care about school. I did some things I never thought I would do before. Close friends would tell me to move on but I was stuck in the past.
His name is “skittles” and he means the world to me. I know that’s a lot to say about someone but it’s true. I love him so much even though he thinks I don’t, I do. He’s all I ever think and worry about, I care about him SO much and I just wish he would understand that. He’s always there for me, and he’s a wonderful friend, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
He tells us how he is where he is today without the support of God, and without his never ending faith. The final word was positive. Never in the story did he express a negative attitude towards anyone. His life has been full of “you can’t” or “you never will.” Tim learned form people like that. It was people like that who made him who he is today.
