These camps create a special community. Attending summer sleep-away camps leads to tremendously positive experiences that affect children throughout their lives. Summer sleep-away camps can offer both physical and emotional health benefits in a number of ways. The obvious reasons include fresh air, increased exercise, a break from technology (such as phones, computers, and internet), and structured meal times. At (name of camp) in (location), they provide numerous nature walks and hikes throughout the day.
The park also asked us to gather all the branches and place them in a pile for pick up, but we took the branches cut them up and used for fire wood: because the nights were getting chilly and we didn’t want the kids to get cold. A positive outlook on all the branches falling was that there was plenty of fire wood. My husband and I made camp Fritts in our front yard. The neighborhood smelled of burnt wood. That evening the kids cooked hot dogs over the fire.
It was the best summer of my life. I made a lot of friends, and at the end we got Junior Guard bags, T-shirts, and of course Junior Guard Stripes. This stripe has a lot of sentimental value for me because this is a symbol of the Junior Lifeguard camp. I went through a lot of things at this camp, and I am not going there again, so it can be a very good reminder of time I spent there. This stripe was given to me by the Junior Lifeguard couch.
We had vendors from Horry County Fire and Rescue team, the Fun Warehouse, News Channel 13, and many others, but all of these vendors worked together to make this event such a big hit. There was also a small use of Symbolic Interaction because we brought in certain vendors that we knew the kids would love. Based on this event, it seems like Chick-fil-A has a big impact on the lives of little children. It was obvious that the kids love Chick-fil-A, but loved them even more for putting this event
I also made life-long friendships, and I am still meeting new people at our meetings that we have during the school year. The summer before my junior year of high school I attended my 10-day residential Junior Conference at Christian Brothers University. Entering the program I had mixed feelings because I was so excited to meet new people, but at the same time I was extremely nervous because I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
I never thought that I would be the teenager in high school who had to grow up a lot faster than the rest of my friends and fellow classmates. I had many dreams and goals I wanted to accomplish while being a teenager, but when I found out that I was expecting a baby my junior year in high school my dreams and goals were put on pause. I graduated high school my junior year. It was exactly one month before I had my wonderful son. My son Kaleb was born May 24 2008, and from that moment on I wanted to give him everything he deserves.
Have you ever gotten more than you bargained for? Well I don’t like to put myself in situations that make me feel uncomfortable, but sometimes its hard to avoid. Whenever I volunteer to do anything I make sure it something I’ll enjoy, so when I found out that the YMCA was looking for volunteers to coach youth basketball, I jumped right on it. The YMCA is a nationwide recreational program that allows almost anyone to participate in its year around activities. I had volunteered before at the YMCA but this was my first time volunteering for a daily summer program.
It took me so long to accomplish my goal and I had a good time playing Toontown. For my age I am suppose to feel good and live me life to the fullest but I cant if I am under all this stress from school. I told my friends I was 11 but I act mature for my age and they were like "ok." This game helps soothe me and guess what? I going to get my friend this beta key because I had never felt her pain in the playline because I never entered the playline but I will end her suffering because she is my cool internet friend. 2.
Fair season seems to create discussion around that point each year. We hear about good sportsmanship, character, winning and losing. Competition is on the minds of children and adults whether it be at ball games, soccer games, swimming or at county fair. Involvement in competition takes understanding and reinforcement from leaders and parents. Being a good participant and competitor is very important to every child.
This wasn't any regular cheer competition, this was the Special Olympics and this was my first time volunteering as a Unified Partner. It was my Senior year in high school. Thinking back I never would have thought I would be faced with the amazing opportunities that came to me during the school year. Just before I was making my schedule my principal approached me and asked me to become a Peer Mentor. She explained that I would be tutoring freshman and helping them with their school work for two class periods a day.
