I had no trouble completing high school, taking most AP classes throughout my then short academic career. It seemed to me that I would simply coast through college as though it were nothing more that an extension of high school. I was sorely mistaken on that front, but what I was absolutely right about was how fun my new experience in college would be. I ended up attending Prairie View A&M University as a freshman in the fall of 2001. It didn't take long to notice that the freedom

This wasn't any regular cheer competition, this was the Special Olympics and this was my first time volunteering as a Unified Partner. It was my Senior year in high school. Thinking back I never would have thought I would be faced with the amazing opportunities that came to me during the school year. Just before I was making my schedule my principal approached me and asked me to become a Peer Mentor. She explained that I would be tutoring freshman and helping them with their school work for two class periods a day.
For the past year though, I have been set on going to Illinois State. It’s the school I know I want to attend. Since I’ve said what I want about me attending your school, I’ll tell you a little more about myself. I’m the kind of person who has gone through a lot of change. I went from being a shy freshman with barely any friends, to an outgoing senior that makes friends with many of the people she comes in

Along with that I hope to learn more about better time management in my college skills 105 class.
