Marcus Greene Mr. Brown English Comp 17 Aug 2012 Responding to pop culture The biggest boss thus far Rick Ross has manifested himself into one of the biggest commodities in rap music today. As well as constructing the toughest crew around, the untouchable Maybach Empire, which includes recording artists Meek Mill, Wale and Omarion just to name a few are truly untouchable. Ricky Rozay, which often refers to himself as the “Big Belly Rude Boy” delivers motivation for victory in each sixteen. Rozay recently released his fifth solo LP titled God Forgives, I don’t. Out the gate the LP begins with an intro snippet from the Movie “Baby Boy”, in which characters Jody and Sweet pea asks God for forgiveness
When compared to the other rap hits of the time, Run DMC's sound was very unique in the sound of the beats and the skillful, push it to the limit vocals. By the mid 80's, Simmons had founded the hip hop record label Def Jam, and Run DMC became the most powerful group in hip hop. Run DMC then started to experiment mixing their sound with samples of heavy metal guitars, basically combining the sound of each genre to create a gritty, street savvy sound. Run DMC's success showed the rest of the hip hop world that success could be achieved by delivering constant new material that challenged the status-quo with unique sounds and challenging lyrics. Their 1986 album Raising Hell was preceded by the top ten hit “My Adidas”, and then the release of a cover of Aerosmith's “Walk This Way”, off the same album, became the groups biggest commercial hit.
“Lil’ Wayne.“MegaMan.” The Carter IV. Sony, 2011. CD. Dwayne Carter the best rapper alive so he says. Claimed his title with the hit master piece “MegaMan”.
After his signing he hit the hip-hop scene with a vengeance producing bomb ass single after single including “Tupac’s Back ft. Rick Ross”, “Ima Boss ft. Rick Ross” and just recently the catchy track “Bag of Money ft. Wale, Rick Ross and T-Pain”. These compilations catapulted young Meek Mills hip-hop credibility within the rap game. Hip-hop fans trust me, you will not be disappointed with his new work, the swag, the style and creativity shown within this masterpiece will have you repeating song after song. Well enough of me babbling let me take you on this journey track by track so you can run out a get your copy for your
The other factor that takes away from this album is the two rock-rap songs, (She Watch Channel Zero!? & Party For Your Right to Fight). Maybe it’s a personal bias, because I never really like when rap and rock fuse, but I totally think they are in much better form when rapping over James Brown samples. Otherwise I can’t see any other flaws with this album. Chuck D performs like no other, and the Flavor Flav element is unique and essential to this album’s
"Lotta Boot Left To Fill" was the best song in my opinion on the album. A song about having some mighty big boots to fill, thanks to the legends mentioned earlier. But what it does lack is the here today gone tomorrow music that is created by other country stars. This album is was lifted Eric Church's career. As for the album that cemented him as a great star to be around for awhile, that would be his 3rd album.
{draw:frame} 1971-1996 By Latoya Jefferson The life of Tupac Shakur As you know Elvis was known for rock and roll. Tupac Shakur defined the hip hop music scene, as everybody knows it today.Tupac also known as 2pac or Makaveli. October 2, 2012 ENC 1101 Lupe Fiasco is in my opinion one of the greatest artist of all time. He is a mainstream rapper with so much profound meaning to his songs. Because of this the untrained ear would just think he’s rapping; I see him as an icon as should everyone else old and young alike. Lupe Fiasco just released a new album called the Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album and it is awesome! His timing couldn’t have been anymore perfect now that Columbus Day is next week.
Tupac Amaru Shakur is considered one of the best rappers and MCs of all time. Numerous polls and awards back up the strong influences he has made throughout his career. However, many of Tupac’s successes and hits have occurred after his supposed death. Tupac Shakur was born on June 16th, 1971 in East Harlem, Manhattan, and his recorded death is September 13th, 1996. Whether Tupac is dead or framed his death and is still alive is a highly debated and unsolved case.
Hip-Hop artists are the role-models of most African-Americans. As they hear their favorite artists, they want to do the same things as them. Drugs are first in the songs for example; one of the most popular artists is 2 chainz. On one of his songs, the title is “crack”. It summarizes who he is and what he does, and African-Americans love it.
