My Favorite Fruit

My Favorite Fruit would be the Apple. To briefly describe my favorite fruit, there are 25 different existing types of apples such as Adams apples, McIntosh and my absolute favorite granny smith green apples. These delicious fruits are grown in the Northern Temperate Zone in both hemispheres. A lot of apples are harvested in summer time but are too sour for eating and they are mainly used for cooking. Once apples have been harvested they will spoil very quickly so they have to be eaten right away. The apples that are grown and harvested in the fall are good for eating. The sight of an apple is very interesting. It has a rounded shape, such as balls with a depression on the top were a stem is attached. Some apples are perfectly rounded, while others are more rounded at the top and more narrow at the bottom. In addition, some have knobby or humped surfaces at the bottom of the apple. Apples are very firm and the skin is shiny and smooth. The color of the apples skin can vary from red, green, yellow or a combination of any of these colors. The flesh is a white or an ivory color with a star shaped inside with seeds. Apples have very few distinguished sounds while eating. While biting into this fruit it, has a juicy, yet crunchy sound as it hits your teeth. When you tap on the fruit it makes a distant hollow sound or echo. When shaking an apple, you can hear the seeds moving around inside like a rattling noise. The feel of an apple is very shiny and smooth. It has a smooth wax-like surface and tends to be rough around the top and around the stem at the bottom. Apples are hard but yet forgiving when you bite into them. The harder the apple, means the apple is ripe and ready to eat and the longer it has been harvested it gets softer and bruises.
