Living day to day not knowing what may be ahead is something we all experience, but living day to day knowing you have done all you could to improve your personal health to the best of your ability, can lead you to a more active, productive and gratifying lifestyle. Having a solid social support network, managing your weight and eating habits, exercising regularly, using the mind-body connection for hardiness and reducing your stressors are areas that can help you improve controlling aspects of your overall health and wellness. As most of us know, being physically fit is not an easy task. The older we grow the more our body breaks down.
Unit 5 – P1 Define key terms associated with a healthy lifestyle Fitness Having a healthy lifestyle doesn’t only affect the way you look or feel it affects four key terms, these are your fitness, health, well being, nutrition and lifestyle. If you are trying to lead a healthy lifestyle your fitness is probably the most important thing to work on. Working on your fitness will ensure your using and working your body to the best of its ability which will benefit you in the long run. To improve your fitness you don’t have to necessary go for two hour runs everyday all you need to do is simply boost your levels of general daily activity, doing this can have a massive improvement on your health and energy. Your fitness is important because it has a major affect on your way of life.
For example, regular brisk walking can help you: • Maintain a healthy weight • Prevent or manage various conditions, including heart disease, high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes • Strengthen your bones • Lift your mood • Improve your balance and coordination The faster, farther and more frequently you walk, the greater the benefits. Walking and biking are both excellent forms of cardiovascular exercise which, when performed regularly, can ward off disease, shed pounds, improve mental outlook and reduce the likelihood of dying young. Each have their merits and drawbacks, and which is the best choice for you largely depends upon what you'll enjoy doing most, the health of your joints and how much weight you'd like to lose. “Like walking, biking is low-impact and easy. It's also fun, and according to NutriStrategy, burns a lot of calories - significantly more than brisk walking.” (Bigelow) You’d be forgiven for wondering but stair climbing can have a significant and positive impact on an individual’s health over time.
Teaching Philosophy I believe that all students should receive a fair opportunity to participate in every class. Whether these students are great athletes or not is not the important thing, effort is. I believe that all classes should be a great educational experience for the students. Physical development is an essential area in the growth and success of any student. Individual growth will establish students with a total understanding towards their health as well as an education in future living skills.
An individual’s health and activity level can make the difference in how long abilities can be maintained and how healthy they continue to be. When individuals maintain close family connections as well as continuing to acquire new knowledge that will help to stimulate new growth in the brain which keeps them to stay involved in life and not sitting around waiting to pass on to the other side. The book discussed how successful aging is dependent upon an individual’s low probability to disease and disease related disabilities, high cognitive and physical functional capacities and an active engagement with life. When all these components are reached then it gives many individuals a way to age healthy and live longer lives but when disease or other issues begin to take their toll on an individual then for most hope is lost causing many mental and physical abilities to decline and individuals giving up on

Health and well-being can be described as the achievement and maintenance of physical fitness and mental stability. This is a positive definition of health and well-being. A positive definition of health: A positive concept towards health and illness could be defined as believing that being healthy is a state which is achieved through continual effort. People with this approach believe that by taking regular exercise and looking after their bodies will keep them well. Generally people with a positive approach to health believe that they are responsible for their own health.
This means that the care of the service users will be improved since the staff are able to solve problems quickly and effectively. Having trained staff, that are educated with legislations, policies and procedures and are up to date with the current knowledge, means that they can provide excellent service for the service user. This allows the service user to relax as they will have confidence in the quality of care they receive. The staff members will also provide the correct service needed in a safe and friendly environment. This will improve the experience that the service user has.
Under the supervision of my influencing style, they remain energetic as I never let them down. I take part with them in creating new ideas and share my ideas for their as well. I feel a very good and health combination between me and my team. This pattern of working will bring us at the top of the list by performing well and with a consistent
I plan on living a much healthier and fulfilling life. I am the only one that has the power to change my life and thanks to this class I now have the knowledge and tools that I need to live a much healthier lifestyle. I just need to utilize them. I want to live as long as I can and be healthy so that I can play with and enjoy my grandkids. Being healthy will only increase my happiness and being happy is important to both my mental and physical well being.
