This allowed for people to have access to lots of music and even movies without even blinking. As these sharing sites have become more popular, the more problematic they have become. Many people do not see the issue that comes with illegal downloading. As a result of illegal downloading, music revenues have dropped substantially and have taken a toll on the music and entertainment industry. Although, society may not see this because they just see the pop stars who are rich and famous and forget about the bigger picture.
However, there are questions as to whether hip-hop and rap music have been a positive influence to the adolescent audience. Some popular themes that are in these songs include violence, misogyny, sexual exploitation, etc. Adults from the previous rock and roll generation find these themes unique, horrid, and illicit. Eminem, however, has been on the radar for quite some time now, and the opinion of his music is very divided. Critics define him as a negative idol to his audience, and adults feel as if he is showing children a wrong direction to go.
He has a tendency of impacting others that he comes into contact with his words and actions because of the things he says to them in a way that could make them feel as if they don’t measure up to him. West doesn’t take full responsibility for his actions when it’s time to. West is a huge figure in today’s entertainment culture with his outrageous fashions. He accessories his fashion choices with his self-made attitude that he carries around with him everywhere he goes. In personal settings Kanye West is a heartfelt person who puts all of his emotions into his music so his fans can identify with him.
As a society, we strive for “perfection,” but nowadays that’s all we hear; songs have gotten to be all to similar and fake. True, lyrics still hold value, but they aren’t sung with passion, although some may argue that. Personally, I find Auto Tune to be a disease that has spread like an epidemic in our culture. When you turn on the radio to a station such as B96, it is almost impossible to find a song that hasn't been altered by auto correlation. To me, artists who create songs completely in Auto Tune deserve less
Going with the paces of the hustle and bustle of life, especially in America, we may get lost in all of its complexities. When we get lost in something as complex as a super society embedded in centuries of culture, we don’t tend to ask very many questions. We are alive and seemingly well in our health, wealth, and intellect, so there usually isn’t anything worth questioning. But what if we could be doing better? Much better in fact.
As I scroll though my Facebook newsfeed, I see so many posts about people who are attempting to pursue a music career. It seems like everybody is either trying to rap or sing these days, and sometimes both. On one hand, it’s great that people are not just listening to music, but are taking the initiative to make their own music. The backlash of this is that the music industry is becoming overly saturated, with too many people trying to become the next Drake or Justin Bieber. Music isn’t formulaic, there’s no workout plan.
The media influences the way I feel about music in a negative way. The media is always trying to look for the negative in a singer, a song, or a performance, just so that they can exploit people and make themselves look better. When the radio overplays a song, it annoys me because I do not get the same feeling I got when I had only listened to it a few times. Listening to a song over and over makes me tired of it quickly. Music greatly affects us as a society.

Competition from potential new entrants From the case, it does not mention about the potential new entrant, but it is apparently that the barrier for a new comers to enter into the market is not high. Some lifestyle even let people make their own music. Many teens are influenced by their religious beliefs, and their music choices are influenced by those beliefs. Money is a large factor in music choice because of availability. Teens that have more money have a greater variety in the types of music they listen to. Teens with little to no money are more restricted in their
"Our expectations have gotten too low." Beyond the media, Daniels argues, "ghetto" is a staple of many youth subcultures. What troubles certain onlookers is when youthful fans not only listen to the urban sound of hip-hop but also borrow from certain rappers' attitudes and lyrics, freely using dirty slang words. The lyrics tend to downgrade women and society has adapted to this behavior. She describes women are not treated how women should be
