One effective method for me is playing music while writing essays for English. I have found that this type of music is a fantastic way to become inspired and it aids in intellectual development. As a musician I have always gone to music when I am lacking inspiration and it has never failed me. Whenever I have an essay to write for English, the first thing I do is start up my music. Writing is not a challenging task for me but it does demand a certain imaginative spark that I find in music.
My World of Music Music plays an integral and emotional role in our lives. We all have some stories and memories tied to certain songs that we hear. Music helps in shaping our identity as we mature through life. A discourse community is a group of people who speak and share the same interests in certain topics, knowledge, and vocabulary using similar jargons specific to that community. I successfully joined a discourse community of a music class to learn the skills of playing an electronic keyboard in my sophomore year of high school.
Having these basic fundamentals down allows the musician to more accurately play the music and sight read better. Throughout high school, I developed these skills until it didn’t take much thought for me to play my major scales up and down full range, then blast through my chromatic scale. I even practiced all forty-eight minor scales. It was the combination of learning to read music as well as performing it
How music affects us is connected through our brains neurochemistry, our mental associations with the music, our culture, and our spirit, which are all mentioned in this scientific journey. Through this journey the writer perplexed me with scientific and musical vocabulary and redundant examples, but at the same time, I was fascinated with his description of the anatomy of the brain and why we enjoy the music we prefer listening to. I must admit that I had high expectations for this book because of my appreciation for music and what a significant role it plays in my life. However, when I began reading, I found the beginning of the book to be very abstruse. Knowing the definitions of pitch, timbre, meter and loudness, to name a few, do not help me enjoy music more than what I already do.
First came the basic notes to certain keys. Next I learned how to strum. I was amazed at the fact that I could play the instrument. After each lesson I would continually practice, trying to make the clearest sound possible. I began piecing together strums and notes to play songs.
This piece was composed during the minimalist style outbreak, so it was only natural and exciting for composers to be experimenting with the newly-discovered ways of electronically making and editing music. Steve Reich greatly incorporates the electronic sound into his piece by using 7 electric guitars and 2 bass guitars. The use of all of these instruments creates a thick polyphonic texture, which was achieved by being “multi tracked”, which was overdubbing short phrases on top of each other. The piece is mainly made up of many short patterns/motifs, with the repetitiveness of the piece making it feel rather hypnotic. The texture remains fairly constant but with use of panning (bass guitars are panned with one to the left and one to the right.
Youvika Menos Mul 1010 Concert Report I attended the Boston pops on the 4th of July 2010, during the event I was a casual listener as I learn from my music class ” this type of listener likes having music playing, filling the environment with sounds, whether present as a background to drive, study, work, exercise, or hang out with friends”. The environment was very enjoyable people sat on the grass they wear funny Abraham Lincoln hat it was a family environment. Many pieces were performed but most of them were patriotic. There were many style that were performed for example modern, classical, etc… the instrumentation of the orchestra was amazing, some of the instruments I don’t even know their name, but from where I was I could see that there
The same situation happened to Scott Joplin, but he used his skill to develop his musical talent rather than tennis. Scott Joplin’s great ragtime music has inspired many people to become musicians. A skill is very valuable, and when put to good use, the results can be very satisfying. Take, for example, my tennis racket that I just let sit in my garage. Then I decided one day that I wanted to play a new sport that was interesting.
My junior year, she helped me get over my stage fright by allowing me to sing a solo at "Winter Concert." Which was terrifying, but she helped me relax and I did well. I love to learn new things from her and she was driven by the joy of learning from us. Her determination to give her choirs the best has really shown me how much she likes to bond with her students. A lot of people take it easy, but she likes to push us and help us succeed at what we want and determine to get.
Puerto Rico was more about beaches and spending time with family. I like to keep myself busy by doing hands on things such as basketball or writing what’s on my mind. Last year I was in a standard class with Mrs.Gorr and I was doing really well by turning my homework on time and also when it came to writing. So she had told me I should move up my junior year so I went for it to see how I’ll do and give it my all. The books that I love to read and that keep my interests are real life stories , drama , teen books , and most important is something thatI can connect to.
