I successfully joined a discourse community of a music class to learn the skills of playing an electronic keyboard in my sophomore year of high school. I attended a seminar in our school conducted by a renowned institution known as The Trinity College of London. The Trinity College of London offers graded musical qualifications in performing arts, musical theory and for performance in electronic keyboards, piano, violin, and many other musical instruments. Having a soft corner for music since childhood, I decided to opt for their class as I thought this to be the perfect platform to enhance my skills in an art form that I was passionate about. Moreover, the class took place in one famous music college that was just a few blocks away from my school.
Jennifer Oliva 10/10/11 Tri-M Application Form Some musical activities I participated in at Memorial Junior High School are all orchestra concerts. This includes the winter and fall concerts that we do every school year. Some musical activities I participated in outside of school were, Summer Music for three years, which took place at Clear Stream Ave. School. In those three years I also learned how to play the clarinet. I was also in Honors Orchestra.
Following should be a specific aims/background and significance/needs and problem statement. For the Youth Symphony, the aim of the proposal would be based on the reason for developing the programs, which would be to provide funding opportunities for young elementary school aged children needing musical instruction. The aims need to explain the importance of providing the young children with early music opportunity. The specific aim statement needs to sound clear and to the point. For the Youth symphony, a good example would be, “Understanding the importance of our children and future musicianship they may obtain, we know that our funds are currently insufficient to instill early musical development.
TDA 3.2 1.1 - Summerise the entitlement and provision for early years education, this should include 3 to 4 year old funding and EYFS framework and curriculum. All children aged 3 to 4 are entiltled to part time education, this is granted by the local authorities through Government funds. Children are allowed this education for 12.5 hours per week for 38 weeks per year. This is to ensure that children are learning through play the basics of letters, numbers as well as learning to count and know shapes and colours, before they reach a more strict education, this is provided for the first two years before starting school age. The Early years education stage (which was made statutory in 2008 by the Government) is to provide support to really young children and to give every child the best possible start in life regardless of the race or background, this is stated in Every Child Matters and Childcare Act 2006.
In the first grade section they had the musical memory game. In this activity there two to every group and one of the students are making the sound and the other one is copying it. then the first student makes same sound but in different rhythm and the other copies it. the activity repeats with different instruments. I am thinking of using this one but then I don’t want to because looks like its
John Cambron Ms. Kerri Huffman English III 15 April, 2011 Music can vary from the beat of a tribal drum to a strum of a guitar by the famous Van Halen. For many the most beautiful and graceful and maybe fun to experience is concert band or symphonic band. Students across the nation receive this experience everyday through their high school band program. Concert orchestra or “concert band” is in usually every high school in the nation; it is usually in second semester after marching season and many students are tired of performing the same song and marching the same thing every week, and they are now ready to learn new music. For school that has more than at least one hundred twenty students, they have to audition for certain concert
These are friendships that I may expect to maintain for a lifetime. I have talked a lot about what music education means to me, but there is proof that being musically inclined can help academic performance. As an example, since I have been in high school, either the valedictorian or the salutatorian has been involved in a music program. And if you look at the list of students who have been in the top 10% of their classes, you’ll find most have been involved in one music program or another. Music education isn’t just for friendships and relationships.
Task 1 D1, D2 A suitable statutory setting for children aged 5-7 years would be a Primary school. Children start primary school at their late four; they finish primary school when they are 11 years. According to Tassoni P (2007: 362) “They start key stage 1 which includes these following subjects (Mathematics, English, Science, Design and Technology, Information Communication and Technology, History, geography, Art and Design, Music, Physical Education and Religious Education)” Teachers provide activities for children so children can learn throughout play, when children play they learn many things, they learn how to be creative and they develop imagination and curiosity. They also learn how to make things
What made this school stand out from other schools was that not only do you have the regular elementary school naptimes and classes, but your parents get to assign you a particular language to be in. Unfortunately, I moved and was pulled out of the school after finishing my 3rd grade year. In the 4th and 5th grade I started at Taylor Schools and went to McDowell Elementary School and once again I moved to where I am currently, Southgate. I have lived in Southgate ever since then. In the 6th grade, I was starting middle school and this was where I truly discovered my love for music.
