However, the third song concertino for clarinet, played by Frank Bencriscutto. He did prove his talent in playing clarinet, but he was really nervous. I feel like he is too nervous to breathe. The Piece I Enjoyed the Most: Celebrations Reason: it was the first song of the whole concert, which is also my favorite one by John Zdechlik. It was beautiful melodies, the brisk pace of hearty, full of a kind of vitality and vigor up.
Mr. Williams started out the first movement witth the rasgueado technique. After a few measures, the orchestra joined in. There are some meter changes between 6/8 and 3/4, which Mr. Williams and the orchestra could execute smoothly with great charm. Moreover, Mr. Williams also carried out the fast challenging scale with unparalleled precision – not even one mistake was heard. Although guitar is a soft-sounding instrument, with help of amplification, the balance between the orchestra and the soloist was fantastic.
I enjoyed listening to them and not being startled every 30 seconds by the drums pounding in or the horns suddenly sounding out of no where. In this sense, I very much enjoyed listening to this orchestra in a different way then I enjoyed the other musical performances we went to see. When Joshua Bell came out to do his solo, it was actually very funny because he completely changed the mood of the night by playing “Yankee Doodle” on his violin. The whole mood
I will begin my paper with my personal experience with listening to classical music and then I will show how classical music benefits people's life in different ways. I was fortunate to grow up in a family which appreciates classical music, and some of my happiest times when I was young were those I spent at home when my dad was playing his old records. As I recall, Tchaikovsky was the first composer I listened to in my childhood. I listened to Swan Lake during those days. My father was enthusiastic for Tchaikovsky and he is also a fan of the Strauss Family of Austria.
The piece In the Hall of the Mountain King has a very familiar melody, so it was very enjoyable to listen to. By starting off with a low bassoon timbre, the scene was set very well. The mood of an eerie, spooky night was set well with the low register notes. As the piece goes on the melody is apparent throughout, but the tempo speeds up. By speeding up the tempo and adding more instruments every time the melody is played, the composer is able to depict the increased fear of the “character” in the “story” portrayed through the piece.
You could easily tell that the dynamics were well enforced during rehearsal because when they played there was great dynamic differences throughout the piece. They had a very warm tone even though it was a fast piece of music and warm tones are more associated with slow pieces, Each band tuned individually and as a group before they played each of their pieces so that most likely helped in the aspect of tone quality. Throughout the concert I noticed that each
Texture: This song consisted of a polyphonic texture. As I could hear the two different melodic lines, again, the voices of the men were greatly emphasized and the talent they acquired could not go without being noticed. Dynamics: As the men sang this song they maintained the same dynamics the whole time. The movement was just over seven minutes long and featured a mezzoforte dynamic because of the loudness of their singing voices. As the concert began I thought they would open up with something
For them this song always brings fond memories and we can see it, when Ilsa is sitting adjacent to Sam’s piano quietly enjoying this song. Casablanca is not only admired for its music, but also for excellent actors, who transmit their characters’ situations very well. I love the acting of Rick because at all times he shows an incredible personality. He’s intimidating, but also respectable. However, this also shows as he faces his loneliness when smoking a cigarette, plays a game of chess unopposed and is always taking sips from his glass of wine.
Improvization was so original that the musicains that mastered the technique were classafied as there own genre. Miles Davis for example, was amazing at improvization so people stopped calling it blues and referd it to miles davis
I was drawn to this concert for two main reasons. First being that I am a fan of Nobuo Uemtasu’s work, and his modernized take on music with a classic sound, and second that the songs provided a background for the game they were made for. The game series of games entitled “Final Fantasy” are all story centric and the music does just as good of a job telling the story as the writing does, crossing the concert into theatre through the recorded animations onscreen during the concert. There are multiple plots as it covers different additions to the series, however the songs played the day I went focused on the eight of the series. The plot involves a young man sheltered by society thrown into the hands of fate, being led to throw down an empress consumed by power, all set in a fantasy world of love, betrayal, and magic.
