Unit 2 P5. Paige Crawford. In every health and social care setting they promote anti-discrimination so all careers and clients do not feel discriminated against. When they promote anti-discrimination practice they have to make sure everyone get the same and equal rights and are all treated with the right amount of attention that is needed and also so they don’t feel as if they are missing out or mistreat. First of all the careers should make sure the service users are made more than welcome.
When he makes the point that everyone can make their voice heard, Abby, one of the students said that hers does not matter in society and it can’t make an impact. Yagelski realizes that Abby is somewhat right, “Abby’s experiences in the world contradicts much of what her English teachers—and other representatives of the educational and political establishment, including me… (Pg.4)” Yagelski realizes that Abby’s teachings are flawed because the teachings make her believe that her opinions matter to those above and below her when in reality they don’t. He then says that everyone has an equal voice and opinion but it only matters based on where your spot in the social pyramid is. Yagelski then lists several ways for someone’s voice to be heard within their area of the social pyramid; the suggestions were made for someone is a normal person. Some of them were: to submit a petition to a town council or school board, to respond to a request to sign a petition, to understand the minimum wage law announcement posted on a bulletin board at a workplace.
Communication between colleagues is essential, so that it ensures a continuity of care for the patient and all staff are aware of the current needs for the patient. 1.2 Effective communication is important as it ensures that all the information is clear, accurate, non-judgmental, and informative. This reduces the possibility of mistakes being made and ensuring appropriate care service delivery. It is important to work as a team with your colleagues so that you all work to achieve the same outcomes and targets. During my shift I would by communicating with others with handovers to other colleagues, electronically via PDAs or the terrafix system and over telephones.
The victims are young Middle Eastern girls who simply want to better their lives and get an education. It is clear to see that with the conflict in the Middle East, it is unnecessary for any more added violence. The violence is being blamed on the Military or as they are called “the enemy”. The principle form the video said “they are still scared, but they are still going to teach.” Also stated in the video “there is a strong desire to learn, but it is mixed with fear.” it is clear to see that girls, a woman getting an education in the Middle East is
If the consent is not given by a patient the practice, physician, or the healthcare worker can be held liable in a lawsuit. It is also important to show empathy and compassion to a patient to make them feel that they are welcomed. A healthcare worker should also know when to draw the line with a patient to avoid any kind of harassment issues or to make the patient feel uncomfortable. In any healthcare facility a patient’s need for care should be the main priority, and the healthcare worker should make sure that the priority is met. It has also been shown in the Medical Law and Ethics course that it is a must that all healthcare workers know and understand the legal
Haila Jones To Spank or not to Spank As parents we use discipline to teach our children the difference between the right thing and the wrong thing to do. It is the parent’s choice what type they would like to use. There are several, different types of parental styles starting with: authoritarian , overly permissive , authoritative, and spanking (corporal punishment). There are different parenting styles depending on your culture as well. I believe that there is no right or wrong way to discipline a child, but there is a right and wrong way to behave.
I am now able to understand why I make the choices that affect my life, such as relationships and the career that I am pursuing. My personality type, ISFJ, also dictates every decision that I make regarding my children’s lives. Being an introvert means that I appreciate my own space and I need time to regroup after being in groups of people. According to the Meyers-Briggs test, “Introverts often prefer solitary activities or spending time with one or two others with whom they feel an affinity, and they often have a calming effect on those around them” (MBTI). All of the women on my mother’s side of the family exhibit this same trait, so it’s no wonder that I exhibit it as well.
And if everyone lived this way, all babies would be created in love and welcomed onto the world and the ugly challenge of abortion would disappear. Surrogacy is immoral, unethical, and a violation of the nature right to have close connection with one’s biological parent. I find it hard to imagine a woman carrying a baby for nine months and not developing a strong bond to the child. Having two children of my own, I know the strong feeling of love I felt for my children long before they were born, and I couldn’t begin to have handed over either one of them to someone else. I also wonder about the feelings of the surrogate mother’s own children.
Male and female communication styles are different and the same in many ways. Through watching the video and in class lecture, I have learned that the way that the different genders communication styles are not always the same. Some of the underlying factors that contribute to people having different conversational styles are influenced by their parents, age, class, and gender. Usually we are unaware that these and other aspects of our backgrounds influence our ways of talking. Since we don’t realize that others’ styles are different, we miscommunicate with each other causing problems and conflicts in conversation.
| FACULTY OF COGNITIVE SCIENCES AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENTMASTER OF SCIENCE (LEARNING SCIENCES)COHORT 5 INTAKE FEBRUARY 2014 | | | REFLECTION ON SITUATED COGNITIONCOORDINATOR:MADAM KARTINI ABD GHANIBY: MOHD SYUKUR BIN ABU BAKAR | 14030370 | AIDA FITRIYA BTE HAMZAH | 14030391 | | | Based on our readings and during presentation in the class last Sunday, we believed that situated cognition did happen in everyone’s life coincidentally. Some of the events occurred in our lives actually involved a learning process which we did not realize at all. After discussion with fellow classmates and lecturer, we eventually realized that situated cognition did happen to us before. For example, when we were a baby, we learnt how to walk, speak and sing with the guidance from people in surroundings. Situated cognition or its other name is cognitive apprenticeship or situated learning is defined as “a theory of instruction that suggests learning is naturally tied to authentic activity, context, and culture.” From our understanding, situated cognition requires experts and novice learners so thus the learning process will occur.
