I enjoyed the casting choices because the actors and scenery joined to convey a part of the movies theme. It discussed issues that were amenable. As stated in our text by Edward G. Robinson, “an audience identifies with the actors of flesh and blood and heartbeat, as no reader or beholder can identify with even the most artful paragraphs in books or the most inspiring paintings. Argument: For Jeff Jacoby, writer of “A Desensitized Society Drenched in Sleaze,” violent entertainment indirectly causes real life violence. He states that even with his highly religious and disciplined background he was “jaded” from exposure to violent TV. he thinks that if he can be desensitized, then anyone can be desensitized. With that thought, Jacoby may have a valid point. If exposed to violent TV for an extended amount of time, it may be able to desensitize anyone, especially if they come from an already broken home or bad neighborhood.
Anyone who was positive in the movie they tried to hurt or they killed them off. Young minorities are faced with theses images everyday from music videos on down to television shows and I feel that it was an awful depiction of black culture. I do feel that the movie is detrimental and can taint a young urban minorities mind; it could lead young men and women to idolize criminal lifestyle. When Goldie refers to himself as a “hero” I could almost imagine what is going on in a young teenager’s mind. Their probably thinking the movie was great or they want to sell drugs, be a player or pimp just like him without seeing the truth.
It doesn't appear so, despite minor injuries to Karley. The assault has the look of schoolyard teens gone wild and delivering the message: We could kill you but choose not to. That's called intimidation. Were the losers who cheered Karley's beating as responsible as the suspects? While they may be off the hook legally, they seem to us perfect cowards: inciters of violence confusing life for some killer video game.
When people see or hear the word “murder,” their minds will automatically transition to wrong, inhumane, cruel, vicious, diabolical, evil, or words with negative connotation. This transitional thinking shows the human morality, their belief that to annihilate life is wrong. However, there are exceptions to this belief. An exception can be found in the novella Of Mice and Men written by John Steinbeck, when George Milton kills his mentally disabled friend, Lennie Small. In this case, Lennie’s death was justified because of the reasons behind the kill.
In order for a sitcom to be great, it should be re-watchable. Seinfeld has a number of inside jokes including catch phrases and character flaws which are repeated throughout the episodes. The inside jokes are generally only picked up by dedicated viewers who realise that they’re funny, hence they are necessary in re-watchability. Another factor in a great sitcom is chemistry among the characters. The characters of Seinfeld have such great chemistry that we love to watch them, and feel like a part of it.
The media not only distracts society from reality, but also provides temporary pleasure; for example, television instantly fulfills the wish for relaxation. If people have the self-control to sample television in small doses, it can be relaxing without being harmful. However, when television is integrated into the daily routine and becomes "necessary," people rely on it for artificial happiness. Depending on entertainment for pleasure is detrimental to health and mind. For some people, entertainment yields greater joys than physical activity does.
With all of the media reporting executions like movies, societies become desensitized and accept death penalty as the right way to take care of criminals. By sentencing a person with death, society degrades itself to the level of criminals who have committed atrocious
His argument is that, culturally, we tend to respect admire, glorify, and fear evil acts. The people who do mass killings usually imitate other copy-cat mass shooters. Metcalf also think that “They had often been bullied or neglected as children, had grown up into loners, and often recently lost their last shred of emotional connection or support (job, girlfriend) with the world” (par 3). They may also assume that they will never be forgotten if they kill more people than others. There are some men who think of themselves in grandiose terms and are just upset that the world have failed them.
