Movie Review: The Lucky One Stephanie Obert DeVry University Movie Review: The Lucky One The Lucky One is a typical Nicholas Sparks movie. Nicholas Sparks writes his books and makes movies specializing in the romantic drama genre. Nicholas Sparks’s most popular known movie was “The Notebook.” The Lucky One was released in 2008 as a book. Then it became a movie and hit the theaters April 2012. It reached number 2 in the box office opening weekend with gross sales of 22.5 million. It very quickly left the theater and went to DVD in August 2012. I expected this movie to be a great movie based on reading the book first. In the following paragraphs I will explain the movie and give you my opinion and the opinion others had on this movie. A US. Marine Logan finds a picture while on his third tour in Iraq. He tries to find the owner of the picture but has no success. He escapes death on numerous occasions. One of his friends convinces him that the picture is his good luck charm, which kept him alive all this time. When he gets home from Iraq, Logan and his dog, Zeus, walk all the way from Colorado to North Carolina to give back the picture and thank her. When he finds her, Beth thought he was there for a job. Beth is a single mother of Ben and has a crooked police officer ex husband Keith. Keith and Logan do not like each other. Logan and Beth end up falling in love. What will happen when she finds out later Logan’s secret about the picture she gave to her brother Drake who died in Iraq? I loved the plot of this movie it made it kind suspenseful. Some of the things that happened in the book and movie kept me wanting to keep reading and watching. Overall the plot was good and stuck to the Nicholas Sparks genre. If you are a Nicholas Sparks fan you will love this movie regardless. It did have many good scenes in the movie. I laughed a couple times because there
