Quite a cult of hardcore fans has developed around it, and for those folks, the film is essentially immune to criticism and reinterpretation. The biggest surprise to me was that the bulk of Donnie Darko is a realist drama. I had long heard about how strange the film was, and heard it described as being partially sci-fi (which it is) and horror (which it isn't if you ask me). It was supposedly a "reality-bender". I'm much more of a "genre" fan, and I much prefer fantasy, surrealism and absurdism to realism.

The two reluctantly agree, despite her being very intoxicated. He’s cheating on his wife with a teenager he has been having an affair since she was sixteen. The Outsiders, by Se Hinton, was very different from the movie the Outsiders. The book gave a lot move description but I’m glad I saw the movie to get the actual picture in my head. I don’t think people should by separate by the way they look or how much money they have. All people have feelings. If the movie had more detail it would be more interesting.
Well, he’s dead now. Anyway, on a brighter note, today’s society still looks at young people as being naïve and crazy, but at least they don’t beat us for it like they did in the olden days. Now we’re aloud to roam free, with the exception of curfew and when express ourselves some people actually take our ideas into account. Romanticism inspires art, creativity, literature, music, and unique ideas. That’s why I don’t like, hate it even though those stories were so lame.

Even though, Touchstone did generate profit to Disney and it can share Disney resources, as a film company, to film at Touchstone, but it made them lost track of what their core business really is. It’s even getting worse when Touchstone released ‘Down and out in Beverly Hills, R-rated movie. Disney has a reputation for suiting for a family and it shouldn’t be releasing any movies
Somehow, Celie is even less than that. Her life is a story outlined by alienation: “you black, you ugly, and you a woman; who would ever want you?” In this novel Alice Walker illustrates through character development and structure the alienation that occurs when a person is forced to believe that they are “less than” and is unable to communicate with the outside world. Alice Walker has some personal experience with the subject of alienation. At eight years old she suffered a traumatic accident where her brother blinded her right eye with an air rifle. This accident caused Alice to transform from the happy, self-confident eight year old she was into an isolated depressed adolescent who retreated into reading stories and writing poems as an outlet.
However, as she tries to escape her husband she happens to be run over by Daisy. Yet, if we compared the two women of the decade, we would see how delicate Daisy is and how obnoxious Myrtle is. Myrtle hates to work, similarly to how Daisy has yet to work a day in her life. The fact that Myrtle was run-over, relates to when Daisy decided to stay with Tom. It symbolizes that Myrtle was removed from the equation and will commit to Daisy.
