The simplicity of such a statement is what makes it immensely powerful. The well-educated Mairs, attested to in line 16 ”it has an honorable history, having its first appearance in Lindisfane Gospel” uses her diction accordingly to her story. She applies distinctive and variant jargon in order to be understood. A rhetorical structure, by all means, is admissible to this genre of explanation. Mairs uses allegorical idioms such as ”my god is not a handicapper general, in order to equalize the great race of life.” to show her sense of humor yet convince herself to be crippled and not handicapped.
Because of their individuality, I have chosen to interpret the very similar qualities of nobility and virtue in different ways for each woman. To me, Penelope was more virtuous and Antigone was nobler. Rather than compare the nobility and virtue of the two women to one another, I have chosen to assign a trait to each of them. What attributes and characteristics did Penelope possess that made her virtuous? What characteristics did Antigone possess that made her seem so noble?
Sample paragraph 1 template: There are many different types of people in the world; some are here to do good, be good, and enjoy life. Others are indifferent to making the world a better place. It is the caring and selfless people who deserve and receive the most admiration, the ones who are here to enjoy life and make others' lives better. Diana wants to let others know that she adores life. She is happy, smiles are Contagious, and she can spread them. She cannot live a day without sharing her high spirits. Without the opposition being available the argument will lack meaning. Bosley presents her opposition effectively and strong. Throughout the article Cindy began to gain confidence towards winning the pageant. “I secretly believed that I stood a better chance … though she had the right name and the right body…” (Bosley 2). In contrast to Cindy’s new found self esteem, her mother seemed to uphold a strong lack of confidence in her daughter and in herself as well.
She seems to be only happy when she has control over her husbands. They have to hand over this power because without their consent she has a battle on her hands, both challenging the other for dominance in the relationship. The Wife of Bath's Tale resembles what she described of it in her prologue. Although The Wife of Bath contradicts herself, essentially she comprehends the link amongst her. The wife of Bath’s tale is the struggle of who has the bigger pants in the relationship.
However, whilst Serena feels that she holds power over Offred, she is providing power to Offred by allowing her to feel a sense of agency and a thrilling sense of the ‘time before’. The honor of her brother and her family was very important to Antigone. She knew what she was doing was against Creon but if what she was doing was just within her then the Gods would accept it. Later in the play Antigone changes her view on death and regrets not being able to have a family. “Unblest with any marriage, any care of children; destitute of friends, forlorn, yet living, to the chambers of the dead see me descend” (Antigone p.34). Her failure to see the potential in life was one of the turning points in the play.
I have not been in a leadership before but I’m very responsible, caring, respectful, and trustworthy towards my peers. I also like supporting and cheering on our team. I am an interesting, fun loving girl with a good sense of humor. One thing about me that is important to know is that at first I come off as a very shy individualistic girl but once I get to know people and I’m comfortable with my environment I am a great person to be around. I joke, laugh and humor people and I also get as much as I give.
