As we left our front door and marched toward the street, we looked up at the deep blue sky with occasional patches of white clouds spreading across. I took a hold of my five-years-old daughter's left wrist and held tight. We turned our heads as our eyes checked for traffic on both sides, then we hurried across the street. The street was empty and quiet on mid Sunday morning; it showed no sign of car or people. Many cars still parked in the drive way. I heard our own foot steps as our shoes hit the pavement. The bright sun warmed my bared shoulders as we trod along the sidewalk. We passed the local cupcake shop, and that soon made me go lost in my sea of thoughts, and made me go back to when I was younger. I didn't know how long that ray of sunshine had been peeking through the gap in the satin curtains before it found its way to my face; nor do I know how long it took me to become aware of it. I fought to ignore that errant sunbeam to get back to my slumber land, but the moment had passed. I heard my neighbour’s SUV rolling down his drive, and somewhere a dog barked. I rubbed my knuckles into my eyes to drive the sleepiness away and tried to remember what I had planned for today.The opened window in my mini-sized villa seemed so inviting . I decided to go get some fresh air before beginning my day. The cool morning sea breeze greeted me , caressing my face gently. The salty air blowing on my face felt wet and cool as it passed by; taking a deep breath, it was the smell of the sea coming with this blowing wind flow into my nose. How fresh and special the smell was. The fierce morning sun shone over the big, blue briny making it look as if it was small sparkling diamonds glistening in the sun. the sight of children cladded in rainbow coloured swimsuits, floricking in the cobalt waters brought a warm smile to my face.
