Mixed Martial Arts The art of boxing is coming to an end. Although starting many centuries ago boxing will no longer be on top of the martial arts world. The sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is fast and upcoming. It has taken the martial arts scene by storm. Over the past decade the Ultimate Fighting Championship has grown to become one of the most popular programs on television It is slowly pushing the boxing world to extinction. Mixed Martial Arts is the most demanding sport out there. Its fighters are stronger, faster, healthier, and are in better shape than athletes from any other sports. There is so much to learn with this sport causing for a much larger attraction. MMA is the art of pugilism. Being a focus of many varieties of different martial arts such as Brazilian jui jitsui and mauy thai the sky is the limit. To keep up with this sport there is a constant need for improvement and an evolution of technique and skill. This is quite contrary to boxing however. With boxing there is no real room for improvement or evolution as a sport. After learning the basics there is only room to practice and perfect what you have already learned. To anyone who has trained MMA this is very one dimension. Without an active audience and a small following boxing is on its way out. Most people prefer to watch the mma due to that is so fast paced and high impact. There is so much to pay attention to and so much to learn it easily draws attention. Anyone can box. It takes a real fighter to train and fight mma. Not only is it more difficult but there is much more to take in. Mixed Martial Arts is defined by a sport of any and all martial arts combined to compete at the highest level. This means that this is a combination of all martial art forms. Whether you have taken Kung-Fu, Brazilian Jui jitsu, kempo, or kick boxing you may use them all to compete. Most competitions occur
