Sophie Kinsella The book I read was Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella. Sophie Kinsella’s real name is Madeleine Wickham. She started using her fake name once she published Confessions of a Shopaholic. Although Wickham had previously published seven other books under her real name, her books under the name Kinsella were much more popular, she has stuck with her fake name.. All of her books fall under the genre “chick lit”, light, humorous books about modern women and their misadventures in life and love. In the story I’ve read, there is only one protagonist, Lexi Smart, and no antagonists. Lexi Smart is a common girl working in a flooring department of Deller Carpets and she is dating a guy named “Loser Dave”. She doesn’t have straight teeth, she is oddly white, and she can’t afford expensive things. Three years later, she is married to a multimillionaire with a sleek new loft, a personal assistant, a crab-free diet, and new glamorous friends. Her teeth are perfect, her body is toned, her handbag is Vuitton, and she drives a Mercedes. Other characters in the story include her three old best friends, Fi, Deb, and Carolyn, and her old boyfriend Loser Dave. Now she has a husband named Eric, a contractor named Jon. Her new best friends are Roaslie and Gianna. The setting of this story takes place in London where Lexi Smart forgets three years of her life and try’s to remember it. The plot of the story consists of three main events, the beginning, middle, and the end. In the beginning of the story we first meet Lexi when she is twenty-five and just broke up with her boyfriend loser Dave. Her and her friends go to a bar and start drinking to forget about her
