Dylan Thomas, “ Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night.” In life, some people are unfortunate to have to experience the death of a loved one. Losing someone you love can be unconceivable to some people, as they can’t imagine losing that person at all. In Dylan Thomas’ poem, “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night.”, he is going through the unconceivable in having to watch a loved die. He goes through having to watch his father go through a very slow death. But in hind’s sight, he wants his father to fight for his life and not give in.

As the man's wife points out before her suicide, "the boy was all that stood between him and death" (25). In other words, the man's thirst for survival is fueled by the love for his son. While the man may expect his own death, he lives in order to seek life for the boy. Unlike his wife in her suicide, the man does not wish to "save" his son from civilization's destruction, rape, murder, and cannibalism by killing him preemptively. To the father, suicide is only an option for the son if he is to be imminently harmed.

What Comes of Handling Snake-skin (pg 52) Jim told Huck that touching snake skin causes bad luck and Huck decides to trick Jim with a dead rattlesnake but ends up causing Jim a snake bite that takes “four days and nights” to heal.
Amir’s relationship to his mother, father and half brother, Hassan, are guilt ridden and strained. Finally, Amir addresses this guilt and proves his remorse through selfless acts. It is through selfless acts that his sins of the past are settled and he is able to become a man and form a complete sense of self. Amir’s sense of guilt stems from the very moment he was born. Amir’s mother died in childbirth and at times, Amir feels like Baba resents him for taking the life of his beautiful wife.
Before his mom and sisters died, he was given plenty of love. After they were gone, the only person left for him to love was his father. Chlomo Wiesel wasn’t the kind of person that shows love and affection to people though. It’s more towards the end of the book that Elie realizes how much he cares about his dad. At one point, when Chlomo was being beaten by Idek, he was ashamed of his father and he didn’t feel any grief for him.
Dying," Morrie suddenly said, "is only one thing to be sad over, Mitch. Living unhappily is something else. So many of the people who come to visit me are unhappy." (35) I think this quote means that dying is one thing, but if you live your whole life unhappy then you will never appreciate what have you accomplished. Yes, Morrie was dying but was happy with his accomplishments.
