This promotes positive social interaction between students and parents. By opening up this communication at home students and parents can learn to communicate. Another great example of positive social interaction is when Mr. Collet has students develop the homework information on the board together. This helps student’s gain confidence with peers by being able to share their ideas on the subject. Children do many things when interacting with one another; some are appropriate, some are not.
Also thanks to the novel I had read I improved a lot my reading. I can say that my writing has improved a lot thanks to the work of writing that our ESL teacher sent us. In short, I have improved my English skills. In conclusion, this first year in Essex has helped me to realize how it actually is college. I have also learned that I have done bad and good things in this first year of college.
I will listen to what suggestions parents can make to help improve the classroom and make it a better learning environment. Philosophy: I am going to gather up students and parents and allow them to give me advice on how to improve the classroom. I am going to arrange the classroom so it is open and inviting. It will be a well-developed learning environment. Where I can teach the children how to read, write, and focus on what the need the most and not repeating what they already know.
For example, both his parents would always ask, “what do you see in your books?” (p.516). Therefore, Rodriguez would always feel more comfortable when he was at school. The reason being could communicate with his fellow classmates and teachers and get feedback on what they were being educated about. He stated in his essay that working-class children “somehow they learn to live in the two very different worlds of their day” (p.518). This was not always the outcome of working-class children.
Teach by example. If you have books, magazines, and newspapers in your home and your child sees you reading, your child learns that you value reading. Read together. Reading with your child is a wonderful activity. It not only teaches your child that reading is important to you, but it also offers you important time together, a chance to talk about the book and issues that relate to the book.
This makes the children feel safe, happy and secure during their time at school. Teachers play a critical role in creating a positive environment for children as children look up to teachers as a role model and expect them to create and environment which they can feel relaxed and happy in. The physical appearance of an environment is also important for creating a positive environment. If the room creates a happy atmosphere the children will be more likely to work and enjoy their time at school. A way to make the classroom seem a happier atmosphere is to decorate it as if it was a room at home; you can do this by using bright coloured paint on the walls such as red, green, yellow and blue.
I have set a goal of getting A’s in all of my classes each semester but I am taking it day by day and week by week. So far I am achieving these goals that I have set for myself. I am glad that we did this assessment, it truly helps us a students and individuals have more hope in knowing what we are great at and what we need to work on. The three areas that I need to continue and develop my skills in are Communications skills, Goal Striving and Social Connection, which I was surprised that these are very similar in my top three scores were so I am not quite sure if they are 100% accurate. I do agree with the last Score on needing to improve my Social Connection with my School Environment.
I know for a fact that my Grandma is also what makes reading so easy for me. Almost as if it’s a second nature! Whenever I become stuck or draw a blank when writing an essay I like to give my grandma a call and she always does know the right thing to say or other terms write. I also then thank her for giving up that time when I was younger for teaching me how to read and how to write. If it wasn’t for that time spent as a young kid living with my Grandparents, reading and writing, I honestly don’t know where I would be as far as writing, reading, or even as far as attending Purdue Calumet University.
Communicating with a parent you need to be very direct, professional, friendly, address them how they like to be addressed and also remember the name of their child. The different skills required by practitioners: • Being an effective member of a team is important so we can all work together to support the children’s needs and development and to get along with each other to create a positive environment for the young children. This can produce a result where children are happy and feel safe in there school and feel confident to talk to their teachers. • Always be prepared to listen to whatever the young children want to speak to you about, maybe something they did with their friends or a more serious important issue they might say, always be prepared to listen, never walk away from a child communicating with you. • Polite manners is a good skill to have because children pick up on anything you might say and repeat it and learn it if it’s an unkind gesture or not saying please and thank you.
He told me that I was great in class and excitedly motivated me to join the Sneads FFA. The next week in class we were learning about judging
