Michael Joseph Jackson Bio Michael Joseph Jackson also known as the “King of Pop” was born August 19th 1958 in Gary, Indiana. Michael was the 7th child out of the 9 and they were raised by Joseph Jackson and his wife Katherine Jackson. Michael new right from the start that he wanted to be a singer and started to practice as soon as he could walk. Michael was abused by his father when he was a kid. His father abused him if he didn’t perform well or did something wrong. This made Michael mad and so Michael began to work harder on his singing and his performing so that he wouldn’t have to disappoint his father and all of that work paid off later on in his life. Michael Jackson began his singing career in 1963 when he was 5 years old. He joined the Jackson 5 which was a band with all his 4 other brothers and himself. The Jackson 5 was made by (Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael). Michael Joseph Jackson was the lead singer of this band. The Jackson 5 began to perform at night clubs and bars. Later on the Jackson 5 where discovered and then signed a contract with Motown Records in 1969. From 1969 to 1975 Motown Records helped the Jackson 5 to publish 14 albums and 4 of these albums were recorded by Michael as a solo artist. After that the Jackson brothers signed a better deal with Epic Records in 1976. After this Jermaine left the Jackson 5 to go get married and then Randy joined in. After the Jackson 5 began touring internationally and then they released 6 more albums between 1976 and 1984. Jackson starred in the film The Wiz with Diana Ross in 1978. Here he met Quincy Jones the producer of The Wiz. Later Quincy Jones produce Michael's three most acclaimed solo albums named (Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad).
