(How many of know that God always have a ram in the bush). Many of her family members where entertainers this musical influence lead Mahalia towards singing. She grew up singing gospel at Plymouth Rock Baptist Church where her father preached. At 16 she moved to Chicago for better opportunities as many African Americans did during that time to support herself. While in Chicago Mahalia never stopped singing gospel, she joined Greater Salem Baptist Church and began touring with a gospel quintet.

In my opinion, the 10,000 rule is the most convincing reason for success. Very successful people, like The Beatles, Bill Gates, and Bill Joy, all worked very hard at what they do to become successful. All of these successful people were born at the right place at the right time and took advantage of that and worked hard to learn more, and practice more to become as successful as they were/are. Gladwell did studies on many people, and found that whoever worked or practiced for 10,000 or more hours were the successful ones, and the people who didn’t weren’t successful. It is said that 10,000 hours is the amount of time your brain needs to assimilate everything it needs to become an expert in your field.
Certain procedures that Bob Dylan took that were weird and unusual. “He records and plays his music in a particular type of way that others may call weird or whacky.” Since around 1975 Dylan has only included ten or less songs on his albums. His Recorders and team would always try to talk Bob Dylan into having more songs on his albums; but without reasoning he would always refuse to exceed over ten songs. Dylan was never really into making close friends with his employees. He always just seemed interested and worried about getting into his music to make sure his music deals were set and his shows were all ready on the road to success.
Many people that Elvis’s early years drove him to be a success as to ensure that he would always care for his family. As a young man in high school his music teacher told him that he could not sing. She gave him a C in music. Elvis often said he was too shy to sing in school. He never received any other professional training in music but he always knew he wanted to sing.
A young man entering the trade could expect to work alongside men more skilled in erecting timber than steel, and if he were not permanently disabled, he might live ten years in the trade, possibly longer if he were lucky. Since steel erection attracted only the most daring of independent men, little or no thought was given to the need for formation of an effective Union for their protection. Nevertheless, many of these eligible bachelors, admired from a distance below by the "wholesome young girls" of the Gay Nineties for their feats of courage and strength, later gave thought to such things as provisions for sickness, injury, or death to protect their families. Primarily for these reasons, thirteen delegates form
Michael Jordan through his God given talent has sold hundreds of thousands of pairs around the world to his loyal costumers, who continue to collect. This shows that today’s teens do not attain importance of wise decisions about spending money. The problem to Air Jordans is that they cost so much money. Michael Jordan has manipulated teens to buy his shoes that make a dent in their wallets or their parent’s
By this he means he is fighting for his family. He is fighting to get money for his family to live. This shows that not all athletes in the 30’s were wealthy. In contrast to today, athletes are usually extremely wealthy. Even though Jim was an outstanding athlete he still struggled financially as well as many other athletes did in the 1930’s.
Later on in his life something incredible happened, Thomas Edison offered him $100,000 to go and work for him. He turned it down, the reason why he turned it down is because he thought he was doing just fine where he was at. He made his students work really hard, he wanted them to get it all right. He would use this other phrase if they would tell him “its about right”, he would say “about right don’t tell me ‘its about right’. if its ‘about right’ than its wrong”.
The American Dream can be described in millions of ways by millions of people. Some people achieve said American Dream and some fail in attempting to achieve it. Two examples of this are Austin Carlile and Jonny Craig. Austin is one hundred percent successful in his journey in achieving the American Dream, while Jonny Craig has failed miserably in his attempt, if he has even tried to attempt, to achieve this “Dream”. Anyone can com4 from a different walk of life and is able to go from nothing to becoming successful in whatever they choose, whether it be singing, painting, being a businessman, a lawyer, absolutely anything.
