Team A Week Three Reflection Marc P. Grandmaison, Emma Ramos, Jacqueline Johns Nicole Barton, Kristal Peterson, Tabitha Bangert MGT/311 March 12, 2012 Jenny Williams Week Three Team Reflection In week three, we learned about conflict resolution and group dynamics. The group process (forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning) cleared many perceptions on how groups work. It defined the processing of a group, which will come in handy one day when interviewing or managing our own teams. Emma found the subject of team dynamic and conflict resolution interesting, whereas Marc and Nicole feel comfortable with all the objectives. Marc was not aware that there were just a few categories of conflicts and definitely did not know the different methods of conflict resolution. In his current job the people he works with make an excellent team. This may be because their boss allows complete freedom to do their jobs, and they are constantly passing ideas and solutions among each other. Conflict and its resolution can be a very challenging subject for most of us. According to Robbins and Judge (2011), optimal level of conflict that prevents stagnation, stimulates creativity, allows tensions to be released, and initiates the seed of change without disrupting or preventing coordination of activities (p. 476). Emma is not sure she agrees with enticing conflict to boost creativity. She feels that working in an encouraging atmosphere is much more inductive to creativity and competition than jealousy and resentment is. Nicole, on the other hand, struggled with resolving conflict within an organization. Overall most of the team did not struggle with the topics presented and found the ideas
