People tend to say they lie because the truth hurts but really it is what it is “The Truth”. I realize that by being honest and telling the truth it gives me peace of mind that I am doing the right thing. These strengths help me in my day-to-day life by allowing me to love and be loved, treat people the way I want to be treated, helping others, and being honest regardless of the outcome. All these are great qualities that employers look for in an employee. Employers want people that are good team players, customer oriented and honest.
This happens to be one of J.L. Nick’s strengths and is one of the many reasons that they are successful. The reason they have the ability to build relationships is due to the fact that as a company they have a very good reputation and are a well respected team. Clients they have worked with before, have given the company great feedback. Their employees are very good at what they do; they perform their tasks in a timely fashion, and work efficiently and effectively to get the results that they promise their clients.

Another characteristic of President Lincoln’s leadership style was that he displayed good moral character. He was honest, fair, sincere and trust worthy. Those who worked under him knew that they could trust President Lincoln because he was consistently fair and was fair and decent both when congratulating and disciplining his subordinates. Another leadership quality that Lincoln possessed that leaders should incorporate into their practices is to set goals and be result-oriented. Setting goals give followers a common end to work towards.
According to Tim Aston, the new project manager, he needs his employees to communicate. He feels that they should communicate their problems to him, but they are not ready. The employees in his team think they have no problems. The project manager recognizes the fact that communication is critical to the success of the team. He feels that by the team members communicating their problems, he would be able to help them come up with solutions, which is in the best interest of the team (Campbell, 2009).
Principally, I believe honesty is important because it provides accurate information, reflects good character, and builds lasting, trusting relationships. The fact that honesty provides accurate information is so influential to every aspect of life. In reality the simple act of telling the truth is prominent because it affects all others around us somewhere down the line. Honesty reflects good character because when people know that someone is honest they feel that they can overall trust that person. It’s always comforting and reassuring when you can count on that person no matter the circumstances are.
Positive self –concept arises from positive self-esteem, positive self-evaluation, self-respect and self-acceptance. According to De Janasz (2069), people with high level of self-awareness tend to be superior managers. Given their high level of self-esteem, they are able to “place themselves in the shoes of others” when attempting to understand a problem or issue. They are usually receptive of feedback and are willing to share ideas, thereby leading to improved communications. This ability to relate enables them to win the trust of their peers/subordinates.
