CHS is the largest non-urban provider for general hospital healthcare services in the United States in terms of number of acute care facilities. The mission statement of CHS is dedication to providing quality healthcare for local residents and contributing to the economic development of their communities. For nearly thirty years, CHS has remained one of the nation’s leading operates of general acute care facilities with a total of 207 hospitals and 31,100 licensed beds within 29 states of the United States. There are various major factors that affect the competitiveness and success of CHS. These important factors can be grouped into the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the organization. These factors are of essential assistance when an analysis of the organization becomes a requirement or beneficial aspect of the organization. The internal characteristics of CHS that positively affect the organization are considered its strengths.
