Colten Barrett Comp II 9/5/2012 Dr. Smith Thanksgiving Dinner Thanksgiving is a holiday filled with feasting, joy, bonding and memories. My family along with millions of other American families every year, come together to celebrate everything that we have been grateful for throughout the year. We celebrate by feasting on some of our most savored dishes; some dishes happen to be a family tradition and are served at every Thanksgiving. Every year my family celebrates Thanksgiving at my grandma and grandpa’s house. By the time every one gets to Grandma’s house, the house is already filling up with fabulous smells of pie, meat, and other wonderful foods and to top it off the smell of fresh cut grass blowing in for the opened windows throughout the house.
We were told our order would be put right in, and the salad and hot bread were on their way. Then the food arrived and we began to eat. As we ate our meal the server came over twice to check on us and get us refills. The only problem with the service was that our check was a bit delayed getting over to the table, but its understandable to considering how busy they were. While dinning at Red Lobster the service was fantastic.
Availability and freshness of food and herbs determined how long the shopping trip would be. She, along with help from her husband, prepared items such as herbs and onions, all week in order to be ready for her big meal on the weekend. Even though the mother prepared many dishes to serve a lot people, she prepared only the best. Mother appeared to be resentful to be constantly cooking; she didn’t do any less from week to week. All in all it appeared that she thrived on the compliments and wishes she received for her efforts.

The employees are dress regular. The rice and the bean taste so good I could eat it everyday! My friend Anna comes to this restaurant three or four times a month. I recommend the restaurant Chipotle to anyone who likes to eat Mexican or vegetarian food. This is why Chipotle is a good
His mother was considered to be an excellent cook. Their whole family beamed about it, the mother in law even beamed about it. After his mother was married, her in-laws decided it was high time that she learn how and start to cook. However would her son survive? This was the mother-in-law’s greatest fear.
Walking into Nonna’s house smelling homemade sugo(pasta sauce) being dumped onto the fresh pasta she had probably made that very day was the best! On the table was chicken cutlets, salad, rapine, and so many other dishes along with tutto la familia(The whole family) I remember having to kiss everyone two times on the cheek, I didn’t understand this then but as I got older, I realised the importance of the kissing on the cheeks. After a big lunch, my Zio Stefano brought out a cake and everyone sang to me, they brought me gifts and I hold dear to me the gift I received from my mother. She had given me a necklace that was my great grandmothers. At that moment I didn’t care for it until I later learned that it was a necklace passed down from generation to generation.
My Thanksgiving ritual is of gathering together with family giving thanks, feasting on a great meal, having fun, and watching television shows. We pay more attention to our cooking and preparation to the holiday. During Thanksgiving there must be a grace moment of faith in a religion or an expression of being thankful with life and our success. Thanksgiving is a ritual of reflecting on what we are thankful for, a ritual of affirmation of what we Americans believe was the Pilgrim and Native Indians experience. Thanksgiving meal is conceivably the most important meal of the year.
Justin Webb October 21st 2012 Professor Olsen English 1113 Second Chance The story starts off on a bright blue skied sunny day in the pacific northwest, its Thanksgiving day and the plan was to go up to Grandma’s house which is approximately 35 minutes up the Washougal river road in Washougal Washington. In my car it was three of my best friends and I these aren’t just your ordinary friends they were my family. The friends I’ve grown up with, went on vacations with and was always with them 24/7. We load up the civie, my car, the classic 2004 red Honda civic that everyone seems to get for his or her first car. We set off on our adventure and as always we are blasting music being kids driving up the long windy scenic drive that the Washougal river road is.
