Maligayang Pasko! (Merry Christmas) Ana Catalano January 9,2014 Period 3 This holiday season was a very special one for me, because I finally went to spend it with my family. What made it really amazing was my relatives made the long trip all the way from the Philippines to visit. I was so excited to get the opportunity to spend time with them because it had been four years since we had all been together. As I sat down, I looked over all the food and I felt really accomplished because I had a big role in preparing the food. Participating in making the fish and both dessert plates made me feel this way, because this was the first time I helped cook for a big family event. Once we were all seated my grandmother, who is very religious, lead us in a prayer. In Tagalog, my grandmother said, “I’m so grateful to finally spend the holidays with my family, especially my daughter and granddaughter. I’m thankful that God has given us a happy 2014 and may 2015 be even better, amen.” After her prayer it was finally time to eat. It felt so nice to be able to talk to everyone in person. We had so many things to talk about over dinner. My aunt, Jermaine, talked about her wedding
