Many people argue that development is vital in the younger years in the child’s life, and the ability to solve problems and apply ideas help in the long-term. Hyman argues that the lower classes create a self imposed barrier to learning their values. This is because he believes that they have a low value on education, with a ‘play safe’ culture and also a low level of self belief. This would all impact on the child performance at school as they would not have the attitude needed to progress. If at any point they failed, they would see this as a big mistake and give up and have a lack of motivation.
The family in turn will rely on the educated child to grow up and have a good job, so that when they have their own children they are able to pay taxes towards their children’s education and so on. Unfortunately in poverty or poor areas it can be difficult for society to change the cycle. This can delay or even prevent improvement. For example, if parents aren’t working and therefore not paying their taxes, this could lead to crime which could mean that the local government cannot maintain high educational standards. Teenagers leaving school cannot find good jobs and can result in them turning to vandalism; drugs and many may not find or even look for a job.
We live in a country where everyone should be treated equally. Just because a student chooses to be athletic doesn’t mean he/she should use their athletic skills to get a free ride throughout their college years. A college student being exempt from classes is unfair to other students, it is their loss of education and not taking college so serious will later on bring consequences. Why go to college if you don't take the classes? Seems kind of pointless, most athletes don't go pro after college, so I why not get the full educational experience?
The top three reasons I believe urban students do not perform as well as their peers in other communities are strained home life, cultural influences that do not support education and behavioral disturbances in the classroom. Family life in the urban environment is about survival. Many families are exhausted and see the school as a place where their children go during the day to get what they are not capable of giving them. They have very little interest in exerting any more energy. The cultural influences that inundate students at every turn, exacerbated by the media dwarfs most effort of other social influences.
“(These) values pass on mother-to-mother combine with the natural instincts to love, support and nurture.” If a person was raised spending most of the time on the things that were being bad influence for them such as wrestling or teen’s reality show or their parents were too busy working and did not have enough time to check if they were keeping up with the homework and reading. It is pretty obvious that the child is going to have a great amount of difficulty as they grow up. I agree that raising children is not an easy job but if I was raised in a very bad way and thought my parents did not put enough effort in my upbringing I would not want my children to think the same about me and go through the same rough path of life as I did. Childhood is what makes a child’s base and it is important to pay close attention to their childhood and teach them the difference between good and bad. So, when they grow up they will not have any problem in picking the right path.
Therefore, toy makers decided to make them faster, which will keep the kids busy and they will enjoy it longer. Most kids wouldn’t want to be hanging out with their friends, and have a race with their toys if their toy was going to be slow. Most of them would only want to race if their toy was going to be fast. That is why toy makers decided to make the toys faster. Toy makers also started to make toys smaller.
An easy solution for this would be to take off gym as a class that counts against a students G.P.A, but many schools and universities do not agree to this. (News Hour) Some children are not as athletic as others when it comes to sports or to other things they have to participate in gym class. This can cause a student with a 4.0 G.P.A to lose points. These students don’t deserve to have points taken away from them just because of their physical characteristics. When things like this happen, parents also get involved, which cause more problems.
Issues Impacting Physical Education Julie Gray PED 212 Instructor William Swisher October 31, 2011 Issues Impacting Physical Education Children in today’s society are being robbed of their future, simply because of their environment both at home and at school. Due to the economic situation we’ve encountered over the past few years, more parents are required to work; some work more days and some work more hours, some do both. The ones that suffer the most are the children. They are forced to be less active which in turn causes them to be less healthy and more obese both of which can directly affect academic performance. It is vital that parents and educators get involved and work together in helping students to become more physically active and on the right path to becoming and staying healthy.
Parents that don’t make enough money are living in areas that aren’t particularly safe, which leads to the children being scared to go outside and play. Education also contribute to the socioeconomic issue with obesity. Parents that have no sort of education don’t understand the proper nutritions that are in the foods and what are healthy food choices. Schools are suppose to help children lose weight and teaching them about nutrition. Many schools face a lot of budget cuts and the first programs to be cut
