In 1871, Carl Benz graduated from a German technical college and working in machine shops. He discovered a machine tool manufacturing company with a partner, August Ritter. This was the world’s first gasoline-powered automobile. His cars received a gold medal at the 1888 Munich Engineering Exposition for his car. The first car was called the “Benz Velo.” This was a three wheeled car. He then came out with a four wheeled car called the “Benz Victoria.” In 1900, his company had become the largest automobile manufacturer in Europe. In 1926, the Benz company later merged with the Daimler-Benz AG. Mercedes Benz was a standard 4 wheel car. It was a standard four wheel car. The car was first developed and designed to be a two-stroke engine. A two stroke-engine is a type of power cycle in only one crankshaft revolution with two strokes of up or down movements. The very first Mercedes Benz car looked just like a wagon. It is most likely why it was called the Diamler Stahlradwagon. Inventor/Development Karl Friedrich Benz was born on November 25 1844. He was born in Muhlburg, Germany. Benz then died on April 4 1929 in Ladenburg, Germany. He has originally focused his career and studies on locksmithing. He then realized locksmithing was not for him and decided to focus on following in his father’s footsteps. He majored in locomotive engineering at the University of Karlsruhe. Benz graduated in 1864 on July 9, at age 19. He has several professional trainings with companies, but did not enjoy them at all nor wanted to make his career out of it. Then he moved to Mannheim to work as a draftsman and designer in a sales factory. By 1923, Benz has already produced about 1,400 cars. So, by 1886 the first gasoline powered car was made.
