Background Tanzania Media Fund (TMF) is an initiative that promotes Investigative and Public Interest Journalism in Tanzania through a competitive grant-making component and also has a capacity building element. Incepted in 2008, TMF supports individual journalists and media houses or organizations. TMF Individual Grants has three components (Rapid Release, Rural Dispatch, Fellowship and New Media) while Institutional Grants has two categories (Content and Transformational). Besides grant giving, TMF has a strong Learning Component which consists of short courses, master class, media expo and mentorship 2. mentorship The TMF Mentorship Programme is a hands-on learning by doing programme where individual journalists and media institutions funded by TMF are given media experts to mentor and guide them throughout their projects. This is to help them promote responsible journalism, adhere to journalism ethics and contribute to increased domestic accountability and good governance Tanzania. Therefore, the mentors sought here should have a rich experience in any journalism specialisation with investigative and development journalism as added advantages. Good intercultural facilitation skills and experience in participatory working methods. Highly motivated to support young professionals and bring them to another level in their career. Should have strong networking skills and knowledgeable of development trends within Tanzania and the world. Have skills to encourage grantees to take on more challenging assignments, explore ideas and take initiatives. 3. Duration Mentorship will vary depending on type of grantee to be mentored whether individual or institutional.
