MegaCorp: The Surf Shoppe MegaCorp is currently expanding their overall infrastructure to include a new division which will focus on the business intelligence (BI) operation. This sector will provide assessments of the benefits of specific cloud services. Cloud computing is the new trend nowadays and with each year the demand for its services increases. MegaCorp firmly believes that by expanding its company to include a division dedicated to this movement, we will be ahead of the curve and ultimately reap its benefits. Due to the sensitivity of proprietary information, MegaCorp executives decided to house the business intelligence division in a separate facility on the corporate campus. This facility will be known as “The Surf Shoppe” and all its external information services will be captured from the main MegaCorp headquarters building. This document will highlight the procedures required to not only design and configure a proper enclosure for the team but to make sure the information stays within the company’s walls and not compromised via the network. In order to accommodate users in The Surf Shoppe, we need to build a network in the facility that can allows access to them as well as maintain the border needed for security. The first order of business is to create an Active Directory Infrastructure. This will enable administrators to have a central location for security purposes as well as network administration. Since technically the Surf Shoppe will receive its external information services from the main headquarters building, the ideal setup for this infrastructure would be to use the same hierarchy in Active Directory as the DNS domain hierarchy in place at MegaCorp.
