There are 5 main steps to follow in conducting a massage session: 1) Preparing the room 2) Centering and Grounding 3) Intaking the medical history 4) Performing a body scan 5) Closing session. A massage therapist must first disinfect the massage table by using a CDC regulatory compliant solution containing 10% bleach solution made daily for proper sanitation. After the table is sanitized, table height adjustments are made according to client BMI; check stability of table to ensure safety and stability.

Muscles and joints can be affected from various ways including, work, sports and exercise to name a few. At some point, pain is something that every one feels and is affected by. Most times a person will visit a doctor or a physician, not realizing a massage therapist can reduce pain and treat muscles in a medical way. As written in “The effect of massage on pain in cancer patients” pain level is reduced just after ten minutes of massage. (Weinrich,Weinrich) It seems that this could be called the “time of the pill”, as everything can be fixed by taking medicine.
