Please define the terms anatomy and physiology. Explain the connection between anatomy and physiology within the human body; basically how do they influence one another? Then using the terminology of the anatomical landmarks/regions and directional terms, please write 2 example sentences with proper usage. For example, “the axilla region is superior to the cubital region of the body”. The definition of anatomy is the structural makeup especially of an organism or its parts. Physiology means a branch of biology that deals with the functions and activities of life or of living matter (as organs, tissues, or cells) and the physical and chemical phenomena involved. Anatomy and Physiology is a science on how our body’s work for example the bones in our body are built by calcium and cells that carry the calcium to our bones. The frontal region is superior to the calcaneal region. The lumbar region in anterior to the pectoral region. 2. Compare and contrast the two feedback mechanisms our bodies use to maintain homeostasis. What would happen if our thermoregulation (temperature control) used a positive feedback to maintain homeostasis? The two feedbacks our bodies use for homeostasis are negative feedback and positive feedback. The two are the same being they help control temperature regulation of our bodies, but are very so different. The positive feedback will send a signal to keep the temperature regulated it’s at the correct temperature. The negative feedback with send a signal saying hey the body is too hot and cause a fever and also sickness and then our bodies will start fighting off any infection or other problems that maybe going on health wise.
