This essay will describe the benefit to put into practice a personalised induction, as well as how to create a script, in order to tailor a personalised induction. I will also show that it is not always possible to use a personal induction on a client. There are some points to take in to consideration when creating a personalised induction. Firstly, people are different in many ways. They have different likes and dislikes, cultural backgrounds and upbringings.
The differences between hearing and listening; which shows that one must be an active listener in order to properly and effectively communicate with others. Formal and informal channels of communication have different forms of how a message is delivered. Barriers to effective communication that law enforcement professionals encounter on a daily basis which are emotional, physical, semantics, and ineffective listening and strategies to improve those barriers. These strategies include creating peer groups among officers; limit the amount of information being delivered, and choosing words and phrases that are easier to understand. Communication is a very difficult skill to master, but with hard work and improved communications skills training people could learn how to become effective listeners and communicators.
