According to Professor Romer, a way to improve one’s skills in the chemistry lab is to practice cooking. In any recipe, one needs to follow certain procedures. If one does not follow the instructions exactly, one will not have the desired result. I volunteer at Buena Park Gurdwara, an Indian church, along with several other people who cook every Sunday and Wednesday. My duties include cooking and cleaning for around 600 people.

I personally brought in a total of $55.00 with my pop cans. I obtained a few pop can donations from my roommates and others in my hall, but a majority of them came from friends and family back at home. On top of the pop cans, I also participated in the change for change event that my group held. After my group leader, Chandlor, got a soliciting license for the group we stood outside of the UC and the library for a few hours on October 8th and collected change in our jars that we made. I worked for a total of 10 hours on the philanthropy project: three at the food truck and seven between the group meetings, bottle drive, and change for change.

After the cashier finished ringing up my groceries she informed me that the total was two hundred and fifty five dollars and then proceeded to ask me if I would be paying with E.B.T. food stamps. Growing up in a small town keep me in a box when it came to learning about other culturals as a child.
C A S E A BREAK DOWN IN COMMUNICATION Linda Barry, a single mother with 3 children, was hired as an order-entry clerk for a trucking firm. Her first two weeks on the job were spent in a special class from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 pm, where she learned how to sort, code, and enter the orders on the computer. An instructor worked with her constantly at first, and then less frequently as she gained skill and confidence. Linda was happy to have the job, and enjoyed her work schedule. When the training was completed, she was told to report to the order-entry department the following Monday.
