Who am I? One question everyone ponders at one time or another in their life is, who are they? What makes up who they are? What is it that they stand for? This is a complex question. I am many things, and these things make up who I am as a person. These things help define me. Who am I? I am a husband, who is devoted to my wife. I am a son, who respects his parents. I am a brother, who loves his siblings. I am a young person, defined by the number of years of I have been on this earth. I am a friend, who treasures his friendships. I am a student, who wants to reach my full potential. I am athlete, who always wants to be at my best. I am a worker, who takes great pride in his job. I am many things. Some of these things are out of my control, the role I was born into. Some of these things I have chosen for myself. Some of the things that define me are both real and imaginary. I am a husband, I am bound by law to my wife. I also made vows to her, that I hold sacred regardless of law. I am a son, something that is out of my control. I respect my parents and look to them often for advice, because that is what I have learned to do over the years. They have given me advice that has helped keep me on the right path. What I am shapes the person I have become. What I am is still changing. Experiences in my life will eventually shape the person I will become. As long as I am happy, I cannot go wrong. What I am is not always present. At certain times they come out. I am not always aware of this. They get suppressed or become present depending on the situation. Sometimes I am in control of this, other times I am not. Sometimes emotions take the best of me. But at the end of the day, when all is said and done, I am still the same person. My soul is what makes me the person I am. All of my experiences help to mold me in the person I am today.
