Book Report The reason why I read this book was for my TA class. The book I choose to read was Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. Mary Shelley was born on August 30, 1797. She married to Percy Bysshe Shelley in 1816. She published Frankenstein in 1818 anonymously but was a success. Mary died February 1, 1851. The reason I choose this book was because it looked interesting when I first saw it and also I like these kinds of books. When I read the back of the book I really liked it. In addition, this book had been recommended to me by my brother. The main characters of this novel are Victor Frankenstein and the monster. Victor is the scientist and who creates the monster. He is also the person the monster wants to get the most revenge on and why he hurts the people he hurts throughout the book. The monster is Victor’s creation which in the beginning is a nice creature with no intention of hurting anyone all he wants is to fit in the human world. The book revolves around them both trying to compromise that will be beneficial. Another character is Alphonse Frankenstein which is Victor father. Elizabeth is Victors adopted sister but his soul mate at the same time. William is Victor’s younger brother which is one of the monsters victims. Clerval is Victor’s best friend he is always there whenever Victor needs a good friend. This book is a science fiction and fantasy as well. The book took place mainly in Geneva, Switzerland. The book setting was on land and also in a boat. This book would be considered as a slow paced and mysterious because of all the things going on. The monster was trying to just be at peace with the humans and get a mate of his own. Victor was trying to get rid of the guilt he felt after creating the monster and letting it go wonder the world. After the monster was created he was excluded from the world since people didn’t like him because he was ugly
