My Opinions on Math and How It Relates to Life Any subject of math has never been a problem for me. The simple fact that if I had a choice of not taking math classes then I wouldn’t. I have neither hostility nor fondness towards the subject; I guess you can say I am neutral much like the zero on the number line. I believe math is the type of subject that anyone can figure out as long as they took the time out and actually studied it. This subject requires a lot of memorization of things that would never change for example: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division is something that could be memorized to make the process of math easier. A person can also memorize formulas and just plug the numbers into the formula then use basic steps of Algebra to complete the problem. Math is a vertical subject in order to move onto the next area, a person has to start with the beginning. There is no way a person can go from Algebra II without learning the fundamentals of Algebra I. The type of person that I am consists of a lot of studying and practice problems when it comes down to math because I know I can pass. The only thing that I ever found to be interesting in math is how there are several different ways of getting to one answer; it is like a puzzle and I have always respected that. Also math applies to my life as well as anyone else’s. Now that I am in college I received all of the basics that I need in order to pursue my goals in life. I came to Clark Atlanta University to get my Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Media Arts with a concentration in Public Relations. The degree that I am getting does not require any advanced math courses but I still have to take basic classes again.
