Ozias Leduc (1864-1955), born in Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, was one of the province’s early and major painters and was best known for his work decorating churches, notably the Notre-Dame-de-la-Présentation church in Shawinigan South. Along with the religious works he executed, he was also a painter of portraits, still lives and landscapes. As well, he was a poet and has illustrated many literary works. In his paintings were beautiful lines combined with poetry to create scenes where ancient and modern elements blend gently . Leduc was self-taught and his work was often associated with symbolism.
(Hinds). During the middle ages, some of the most spectacular cathedrals were built. Furthermore, a vast number of cathedrals were built in medieval times. Between 1050 and 1350 in France alone, over five hundred large churches were built. (Carr).
Monique Pimienta English 111 11 April 2011 Nuestro Pueblo The Watts Towers have been a prominent symbol of Los Angeles culture since there construction in 1954. At first glace the towers are impressive mosaic structures made of steel and covered in mortar. Within the mortar are several thousands pieces of recycled glass and tile. Each piece seems to tell a story of dedication, hard work, and desire. A story told by the architect and builder Simon Rodia.

Thomas studied music, law, science, and philosophy, knew six different languages, and was self taught architecture. He was also famous for a expedition that was for religious freedom and public education, to discover the natural wonders of the continent and pioneered neoclassical architecture in the United States. Monticello was his won designed home inspired by a 16th century Italian architect Andrea Palladio and The University of Virginia was one of his proudest achievements he recruited teachers, planned the curriculum,
At the Academy of San Francisco in Spain he produced work in the style of Velasquez and Goya. He also learned the Fresco techniques of the Italians in Florence, Italy. Muralsim in Mexico was another great influence that would shape the direction of his work in the future. There he also studied Rivera and Orozco. Botero was a painter and a sculptor whose work was undeniably unique; by some his style was called Boterosim.

The Chapel of Charlemagne is considered a masterpiece of Carolingian architecture and is the best know surviving example of a Palatine Chapel. Building rooms such as the Abbey Church of Sainte-foy in France marked the Romanesque period shown here in figure 1.2.
One that stands out the most is the Hall of Noble Words at the eastern end of the library. The hall was named for the noble words that are painted on the concrete ceiling beams. Dr. Battle again was the one who selected these quotes. These words are from a variety of sources including the Bible, classical and modern poetry, an inscription on the Temple at Delphi, and famous Texans. The beams supports contain the printer’s marks of famous early printers.
