Summary Mission of Hope is located in Cedar Rapids, IA and was founded in 2002 by Reverend Barb Furman after years of observing the need to help previously incarcerated individuals get back on their feet and acclimated in society. The staff of 16 (5 full time, 11 part time) cares for former offenders, the poor, the homeless and the addicted. Their services are expansive which include free hot meals, 24/7 shelter, worship services, food pantry, jail ministry, emergency clothing, and other general support services. The Mission is 100% privately funded through charitable donations and does not accept government funding so they can preserve the ministry quality in the services they provide. This type of fund raising often results in just in time donations to give the mission the crucial funds to operate. Our aim is to provide such recommendations that will propel the mission above this “just in time” cash flow generation and allow them to operate comfortably within a budget.
