Eric Rosado Professor World History I November 20, 2013 Similarities and Differences Between Cairo, Quilon, and Quanzhou During the tenth century, many changes were happening to the world in which were benefiting various groups of people. Many groups of people were now going to be connected no longer by land networks but rather sea routes. There was going to be a revolution that changed the entire view and outtake on long-distance trade. With the new sea routes in use, many things started to benefit one another. The great lakes are a way of transportation for people as well as products carried on cargo ships. Now cargo ships have to make more trips than would be necessary if the water levels were higher. This cost a lot more money that could go to other important issues. I understand that the water levels are lower because of evaporation. However scientists have seen this coming since the 1990s.
The desire to have and uphold a good reputation makes Beowulf a hero. Though not as significant today, in Anglo-Saxton culture honor and reputation were extremely important values. At times, the importance of having a good reputation was put over staying alive. We see this happen in Beowulf, when Beowulf repeatedly risks his life in order to have a high reputation. First, he “sail[s] the open ocean” traveling far just to slay Grendel (Raffel 34).

It is no secret that through the search for and generation of energy, starting in the industrial revolution, has had dramatic negative effects on the earth. Global warming, de-forestation, and the extinction of many species have been only a few aspects of these. As the population continues to grow, so does the need for energy to support that population.
The threats and disasters at this point and time noticed are the possible tidal waves, flooding, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, hurricanes, earthquakes, typhoons, HIV/AIDS, Petroleum Spill, Terrorism and some signs of the Avian Flu. Ryan J. Chervinko 11/12/14 English 101 Earthquakes in the United States Researching Earthquakes past and present benefits humanity today just like researching any other natural disaster throughout history. Doing this makes us more prepared than our ancestors were and will help save lives, infrastructure and money. According to a Historical Newspaper, The New York Times: The New Madrid fault zone is the most dangerous earthquake belt in the United States. Alternating electrical current increased energy efficiency tenfold compared to direct current since people could actually turn off their electricity. However, the Installment Plan created a country-wide idea that you could now buy what you really can’t afford and that made a lot of debt which eventually made the stock market crash leading to the Great Depression. Although there was a blotch on the great economic image of the twenties, the bigger smudge was on the cultural rifts that
When people look at global problems, they often look at problems such as global warming or oil spills, because they care more about animals and nature than they do about their own food. So we don't run out of seafood in the future, you might want to know how overfishing affects marine life, how it's an economic trap, and what you can do to help stop this crisis. In effect to overfishing, many of our fish stocks are depleting rapidly.
