“Sweet Dreams”- Marilyn Manson The video appears to take place in an old abandoned church, off the assumption that it looked like a bride coming down the staircase. The black hole effect causes a darkness and evil look, and scare factor to the video setting the mood, possibly demonic references? The warp effect to me looks like drugs have gotten changed his perception maybe a hallucinogen, and we are looking through his eyes and how Marilyn is seeing things. The spinning of the camera also could resemble his drug trip and how he’s losing control. Smashing the guitars as if they’re actually losing their minds, especially with the things on their heads, like mind control devices. The bridal veil looks like he hates who he is or the devil is married to him, possibly possessed and being forced to choke him. Singing into a light bulb as if he’s asking for help from god, (white light?) to pull him out of hell. The close up of the belly looks like he has something eating him from the inside out, demonic reference again, also the pig I believe is a demonic symbol. The scenes move to outside to show that maybe he is not the only one that is possessed but that the devil is in all of us. Stilts hiding in the shadow so we can’t see what’s lurking above us. Scary ballerina showing something appearing to be white and harmless can be controlled by the evil spirits too. The hat is just another symbol pointing to the devil and the horns the devil supposedly embodies. The clocks in his hair mean it’s a matter of time before you’re taken over too. Marilyn Manson is known for trying to lure people into his demonic beliefs. Not sure why doves are used but the feathers could resemble all the deaths that have occurred. Walking out of the door could mean that he either gives into the evil spirits or walks away from the them because he was walking into white
