Writing all relevant information down so everyone can read it. This way staff are always aware with what is taking place on a day to day basis. This will make a happier working environment for both staff and other professionals attending the service. b) Individuals using the service and their carers With the above in practice you would have a lot more time to spend with your clients as you would not be running around looking for information. You would build a good relationship with both client and carer getting to know them better, and they would feel they could talk to you and trust you.

Title – Understanding the role of social care worker Ref – 26 1. Understanding working relationships in social care settings 2.1 Explain how a working relationship is different from a personal relationship – Personal relationships, for example family and friends involve emotions and higher levels of intimacy than working relationships. Working relationships are more formal and people tend to behave in more or less the same fashion all of the time, this allows me to be more purposeful in my work and to give and receive trust and respect between me and my colleagues and also the people I support daily. Working relationships also means I can leave my work behind at the end of my shifts and they also protect me by giving me professional boundaries. 2.2 Describe different working relationships in social care settings – The different working relationships in social care settings are between the caregivers and the service users, caregivers and professional bodies such as GP’s, psychology, dentists etc..., Caregivers and the service user’s family members, and also between colleagues and management.
What recommendations would you make to someone coming into the field? What direction would you point them in for better preparation of the professional world, and what would you advise them to not worry so much about? Being able to know your own limitations will help you in setting the limit for what you can handle. Being able to leave the work at the office and to not feel a personal bond with your clients helps to keep things in perspective, because they are not your friends, and keeping it at a professional level always makes the job a bit easier and your career that much more successful (personal communication, Oct. 21, 2010). 6.

Describe different working relationships in health and social-care settings Working relationship with colleague- professional at work, supporting each other in the day to the work by giving a clear hand over notes. although often you make friends with colleagues, Therefore you will no doubt tend to be informal outside of work , working as a team in a service user’s home.
Also to me, on-line therapy may be a little more comfortable from the privacy of their home. If you don’t understand the therapist you can go back and read areas that may be foggy instead of asking them to repeat themselves. The biggest advantage is that you have the ability to email the therapist throughout the day. While these advantages may work for some, others may find on-line therapy as a disadvantage such as, the therapists not having access to important information about you. Some things that you want the therapist to hear is very important to you and you may feel better by saying it face-to-face because face expressions tells a lot.
